Judging by what we know of Chris I'm sure there is a wide gap in understanding between him and his lawyer, in the latest letter Chris says "Heilberg had confirmed my return home on valid terms." which suggests Chris has at least spoken with his lawyer about his sentencing however I'm not sure this means Chris has taken a plea deal, at least yet, since Chris says nothing about talking to court only that his lawyer has assured him of his release, that could mean a few things. The most obvious and what I think is the most likely is that Chris is lying and he's trying to convince himself and others he'll be home soon, this is supported by the fact he feels the need to follow up this sentence with the usual coping of "it has been foretold!", besides, Chris lies all the time and where he to have more solid conformation of he release he would write a lot more about it. Another possibility is to take Chris at face value, he's been in jail for nearly an entire year the court might not have enough evidence to sentence him and Heilberg has let Chris know this, the "valid terms" could just be a redundancy as going home with no further punishment is what Chris considers valid terms. If "valid terms" instead means taking a lesser sentence perhaps parole with time served then Chris mentioning Heilberg perhpas means he indeed meet with him to talk about at least the possibility of a plea bargain. The letter is extremely short suggesting Chris is not in the best place mentally to write a longer letter which conflicts with him saying he'll be home soon, so either Chris has to face some sort of punishment to go home or he really doesn't think he'll be able to go home and is lying. There are a few issues with this theory however, if Chris takes a plea bargain then there's no way he'd be able to go home even if he got parole so unless Chris means living on his own to mean "home" then the letter can't be taken at face value (then again, he might not realize this fact). When Chris was arrested he was denied parole, I'm not a lawyer but it seems like probation wouldn't be off the table too.

I think we're all in agreement that Chris should be nowhere near 14BLC as long as Barb is alive, there's too much evidence to deny Chris has done the things he's done, he's confessed to multiple people both directly and indirectly, he's bought a number of personal items related to sex leading up to his arrest, and in the past through both his admission and actions he has clearly cemented the fact he has repeated sexual thoughts about his mother. I can only hope there is more physical evidence we don't know about which can result in his incarceration.

I can just see it. Chris pisses on the floor, walks across the puddle and says ‘See? I’m Jesus!’

Funny isn't a word I would use to describe this whole situation. Pathetic and sad, more like.

As for Heilberg, I'm pretty confident he hasn't read any of this stuff. However he's probably talked to Chris and is aware of his Jesus delusions.

20 more days until the first anniversary of the Jail of Fail.

(already 345 days since that fateful moment in a motel parking lot)

I guess Heilberg advised against a speedy trial, or Chris forfeited that right somehow?

One has a right to a speedy trial, but that doesn't mean one has to exercise it.

Given that Chris was de facto rendered homeless by that protective order, and considering he had no one not affiliated with the state that was willing to house him–no one with non-malicious intent, at least–jail was probably the best option, sad as that is.

I might be misremembering but don't they have to let him out after a year if they don't sentence him first? That's a Virginia thing, right?

We're so close to a year that I feel incredibly old just reading that. I'm hoping we get to five years though of Chris in jail!

That's doubtful as Chris seems to have what could be a superpower of avoiding or minimizing getting in trouble.

I'm pretty sure you can only be in jail for a year without being sentenced. They need to make a decision and I really hope it's not 'send Chris back to his temple'.

more art sent to "Praetor" recently: Praetor Jail Art - CWCki

One of which is called "Prideful Interview With God" because of course it is. Also Chris is getting an autistic fixation on the "come adore" pun on "Commodore", and seems to miss using C64.

(the ZX Spectrum is better than the C64 BTW)

    I can do it, too:

Why was Chris at Western State Hospital if not for Court Date Ed?

Probably to see if he is mentally fit to stand trial.
