Whenever Chick Tracts use kids in their tracts, it just reminds me of all of the kids from the documentary "Jesus Camp"...

 

I feel bad for those kids, they are too young to know what they are being brought into

 

That kid with the baseball is my fave thing about that comic. He straight up looks like he's tripping on acid at the fucking playground.

 

I can see that, these guys made the same mistake that Chris did with sonee and rosey (tried too hard to make them cute and they look creepy) the result doesn't make me go "awwww" but "HAHAHAHA"

 

In the mid 1990s we had a neighbor that passed Chick Tracts with candy for Halloween. The lady was insane and today would be considered LOLcow she spoke with a bad fake posh English accent until you pissed her off then she spoke in West Virginian dialect. Anyway this would piss off the kids so they would throw them out or rip them up so by the next day there was a trail leading from her house of discarded tracts. I wish I had kept at least one but I always threw them out. Her house was always vandalized that night.

So it looks like the colored ink used on the covers of JTC tracts dissolves in water.

The colored ink can then run and stain the pages inside.

(seems someone left copies of "The Greatest Story Ever Told" in a park and the sprinkler system soaked them)

 

Jen of Fundie Fridays had a really good episode on the history of Chick Tracts and how his mental health really deteriorated as he got older.

 

I like how atheists were making fun of one tract and a Christian character said Christians are the losers of this world
the atheists were like, wow, even we aren't that mean

 

I like how the kid grew up murdering a bunch of people all because he believed in Santa, the Easter Bunny, and the Tooth Fairy and stuff

Also, mandated reporters? What are those?

 

I can never forget the one Chick tract where a man ended up going to hell because a demon disguised itself as Colonel Sanders or the one with a new age healer that would look more like some neo futuristic KKK villain from a 90's Judge Dredd or Punisher comic. Also can't forget getting one of these from a guy passing them out at the bus stop of a community college I used to attend.
