    Hotel Mario, Link: The Faces of Evil and Zelda: Wand of Gamelon are infamously terrible vidya developed by Phillips for the Compact Disc Interactive console with iconic cutscenes that fuelled Youtube Poops for years upon years. Who could forget that time King Harkinian wondered what was for dinner? Or that time the Mario brothers blew up a hotel? Or that time Zelda killed a guy without giving a single shit? Or that time Ganon went into the book pit (it burned!)?

    I don't know if it's more sad or hilarious that literally the only good thing to come out of these games was that they became material for YTP creators.

    The soundtracks were top tier so it's not all bad. I reckon the memes justified those games. And with recent developments with emulation technology...

    IIRC, there were a whole bunch of other Mario and Link games in development, but when those first three failed, they pulled the plug on the rest.

    I love the cutscenes and memes from these games. If I could, I would produce a spiritual successor re-hiring as many of the animators and voice actors as possible to reprise their roles. Only the gameplay would be serviceable mediocre instead of trash.
