1/12/17: Chris Reviews Custom Skylanders Figurine

Based on what Google has to say, he's probably using something called "Skylander Imaginators". According to the article, it's $50 for a custom figure, $25 for a t-shirt, and $15 for a trading card... not counting the cost of the game you use to design the figure, which is another fifty bucks. So that's $90 just for the stuff he got today, and probably $140 total.

Remember, Chris is feeling really stressed out by all the debt his family's in.

 

I'm trying to add on to this about Skylanders in the style I usually review games, but I know basically fuck all about this series.
All I know is it's mostly aimed at kids whose parents have money so they can get them all these physical figures to put into a virtual game.

IIRC, Chris said he wanted a series character from GameStop, and that was how the macing incident happened. Go figure, Skylanders helped get him arrested.

My friend got a shit-ton of the OG Skylanders figures at a tag sale for like $20 so we sat around and tried playing it. It was actually kinda fun at first, mostly because we’re tards who just threw the things all over the place when we were done with them, (and then inevitably complained when one went careening under the couch when we needed it to unlock a door or something.)

When I worked at GameStop, we all applauded Activision because Skylanders is a goldmine. I’m thoroughly convinced that the profit from Skylanders alone pretty much funds all of Activision’s projects.

 

Well, that and Call of Dooty

 

Considering the quality of Duty since like, MW3, I’m inclined to believe that they’re just siphoning off Skylandersbux into that.
