    I doubt Chris likes Rick and Morty (and no, its not because of Pickle Rick.) Chris seems to prefer inoffensive humor, and Rick and Morty would be too real for him. And I'm not one of those idiots who says you need a high IQ to watch it, chris would just rather sit and watch the same ol' morality plays over and over than watch anything with the slightest of edge to it.

    1. It's a common anime trope. Sometimes it's just kind of there, sometimes it's a plot point (like one eye is magic or something).
    2. Similar to above, it's a good way for a lazy artist (or a limited artist who can only draw a handful of faces) to make a character look different or special. I've seen it theorized lower quality anime started doing it because the characters otherwise look too similar.
    3. It's a good way to leave a distinguishing mark on a character without implying a physical deformity.
    4. Metacontext: Fan fiction and OCs are their own subculture. Once they start doing something, others in the same genre/community imitate it.
    5. More metacontext: It used to be a common trope of Mary Sue type characters to have exotic eye colors, so heterochromia would be a logical extension.

    Night Star has to be the most blatant Mary Sue I've seen in a while. Not the *worst* one, but the most blatant. Also, if you could travel to other dimensions, why would you visit the Smurfs?
