In fairness the public school system tried to provide an appropriate education, but his parents blocked it and insisted on mainstreaming, with -uh - mixed results

It's ironic in ways the public school system is now adapted to the Chandlers way of inclusion based education.
When the Chandlers are ahead of PSs, you see why some people have serious doubts about it.

With that side sperg out of the way, you are correct, while it's all good fun to poke at the issues schooling has. In Chris' case his biggest hurdle was his family. The school imho did right thing they had the tools and offered them. Because how they were as parents the real issue was you can lead a horse to water.

I honestly don't think any educational system could have helped Chris because his family outside some boarding home since he wouldn't be around them.

    20 years for me!

And getting hit with a baseketball, leading to creating Bionic, Sonic's unneeded sibling!

I know, we all should pretty much move on with our lives but it's obvious Chris can't.

Chris can't and won't, his high school life is probably the only real thing he has that gives him a warm fuzzy feeling when he closes his eyes and thinks about it, what incentive does he have to let it go?

Didn't people throw basketballs at his head, which led to Bionic?

Chris was lucky that he had to be in high school by law, that limited what the school could do and gave Bob and Barb quite a lot of power. Of course it was game over once Chris went to college. College is a privilege and not a right, Bob and Barb had no power over MLW or the college and could do next to nothing when Chris was disciplined and suspended.

Yeah, he started to have problems in community college, with the Mary Lee Walsh incident, but he really started to lose it when he didn't really have anymore goals - there is no evidence that he tried to get a job after he graduated college, which is what most people do when they graduate.

There's a reason why Sonichu and the comics came into being when he was in college and not high school, he had no support, no gal-pals to sit with him at lunch. In the end Chris had to make his own friends.

That's because Bob got Chris set up on a monthly tugboat. I'd imagine after watching Chris get sucked into the Cutco scam and fuck up at the most menial of jobs (i.e. Wendy's), the Ol' Lumberjack figured that his son was never going to amount to anything. Which seems to have been a recurrent pattern in the way that both his parents treated him throughout his life; they were supposedly told that he'd never amount to anything, so they expected absolutely nothing of him and allowed him to remain a perpetual child. Had they actually given a shit about him, and encouraged him to work and be a responsible member of society, we wouldn't have the fat autistic manchild that we know today.

What we have seen with Chris, is that in order to get him to do anything, you have to nag him, and nag him and nag him and nag him. Barb could do that but she is not inclined to do so and I don't think Bob had it in him anymore.

I think it's more that in high school, there really wasn't any goals other than to graduate.

At PVCC, people were there to work towards a goal, IE a degree. Chris wasn't sure what he wanted to do, and just picked whatever. Bob got him into drafting but even the work we know of, was really, really poorly done.

Manchester basically just let him sleep right through, tolerated him, and he'd be gone. His college degree was probably pushed by Bob given his other kids, and probably didn't want Chris stocking shelves at WalMart or sorting recycling. So there's a pride component.

When everyone figured out Chris was a tard at any sort of job, the Tugboat came along. Not to mention Bob's other more successful kids wouldn't support him, so a guaranteed disability check for his tardkid was as good as it was going to get with Chris.

Chris is the guy who peaked in highschool. He's got nothing in his life to look forward to. He'll inherit the house from his mom, and her debt. I think this screeching is Chris's way of displacing that anger, because chris can never be angry at himself. It would mean that he made life choices, and the great chris can never ever be held accountable for his actions...

More like he peaked before high school. Otherwise, you're pretty much spot on.

His only real hope at this point is that when Barb dies, someone like Rocky or Anna can set him up in a low-end apartment somewhere in the Charlottesville area so he won't have to perpetually live in the mess that is 14 Branchland Court. If that happens, he'll be living in a small apartment and barely scraping by on his tugboat if he's lucky, but that would be a step up from living in the hoard and is probably the closest thing he'll get to having a happy ending in his life.

Agreed. I think he can pull it off if the proper connections are made (and that would depend entirely on his small circle of ass-patters), since Marvin confirmed that while Chris is somewhat bad with money, he can manage his finances well enough to pay bills and basic rent. So if the price is right and he lucks out, he could get a small cheapo low-end apartment or trailer somewhere in Charlottesville or Ruckersville once Barb is out of the picture and no longer around to hoard him.

As I have said before, Barb's death will either make or break Chris, and the ball's entirely in his court. Chris will be devastated at first when Barb dies, but if he can get his shit together and play his cards right just long enough to get someone like Rocky or Anna to help him out of the hoard, he might be able to live semi-independently and it'll work out for him in the long run. Barring some massive legal fuck-up, he's not getting put into a group home or getting institutionalized, that's pretty much been made clear. So, moving out to some low-end cheap housing of some sort and living tugboat to tugboat is the best chance he has once Barb dies.

He won't be able to spend as much money on vidya or Lego stuff, but I think he'd be happier in the long run. In all honesty, I hope this will be the outcome for Chris when Barb kicks the bucket. As bad of a person as Chris is, I do feel some pity for him, mainly because he was fucked from the beginning and never really had a chance at a normal life, even without Sonichu or the trolls.

He wouldn't be any less happy without purchasing shovelware video game titles. All he does is waste money on them. He does the same thing so many of those retro gaming YouTube people do. Buy 500+ games and just let them collect dust while you tell the world you love them. He buys things because reviews and top 10 lists tell him he should. The CWCki article that details his game collection fascinates me.

That's one thing Chris doesn't have compared with other lolcows like Phil, a network of asspatters that will help him out. Sure, some people might like Chris, but no one's stupid enough to allow him to live with them.

What's always funny is that trolls haven't been 100% out to ruin him, some even tried to better himself, but he always resisted.

It's not like people didn't try.
