I swear, watching a "review" by the Game Dude feels like a test of endurance more than anything else. It's partially due to his "reviews" being nothing more than a series of nitpicks too trivial even by nitpicking standards, but it's also mainly to due with his annoying voice and terrible attempts at being like the Angry Video Game Nerd.
(Not seen: Game Dude on the run after stalking his ex.)

 

People who try to imitate AVGN don't seem to get that it isn't just "rage" that AVGN does.

Or that the rage is supposed to be comically fake.

 

Don't forget, he may also possibly be a furry if claims of him having a furaffinity account is true. Never forget he went to some kind of film school just to be an AVGN knock-off as one email or comment claimed.

Unfortunately, many of them missed the memo that the AVGN was meant to be over the top in his rage while also pointing out actual problems in a game like with how shit controls are or how badly design a game is.

 

AVGN's approach was always "This pissed me off as a kid, but now I'm an adult and can rationalize why it pissed me off but I'll present it in a comical manner" while his imitators went "This pissed me off as a kid, and it still pisses me off".

 

This was the lulziest AVGN ripoff, mainly due to the highly concentrated doses of FAT on camera.

(Fun fact: this was one of the very first lolcows I got to witness. Before "lolcow" became yet another term by douchebags towards anyone they don't like.)

Also he's not always "angry" or "in character", and he does stuff other than "REEEing" at vidya.
