Right now, I'm reading Wotakoi: Love is Hard for Otaku for the second time thru. I love this series. It's one of the few things that makes me laugh out loud while reading it. The anime was adorable as well.

Next will be Spy x Family (again)

Have you heard of Aria (and Aqua)?

It's about a girl who wants to row a gondola in a recreation of Venice on a terraformed Mars covered in water - in the 24th century.

 

I have not. That's an oddly specific premise.

 

It works well though.

 

Currently it's mostly shonen jump but made in abyss is such a terrifyingly beautiful world. It's like a ghibli world except exceedingly dangerous.

 

The local library mixes American comics with Japanese ones.

From the selection, one may get the impression that Americans really like superheroes.

GTO (Great Teacher Onizuka) - 1997-2002
It's vulgar, it's silly, and it can be ridiculous, but it's also heartwarming, funny, and hits some feels.

And Onizuka also makes some awesome faces:

 

I binged 312 chapters of Golden Kamuy in 48 hours.

 

that's one of the best series that I didn't expect to like on first reading. It's so fucking good. Nikaidou best morphine addict.

 

I absolutely certainly most definitely discovered Golden Kamuy all on my own and my BFF definitely hasn't been trying to recommend it to me for months and we watched the first episode of the anime and I said no due to bear murder of murder bears because I found it all on my own and most certainly was not steered toward it by my BFF at all.

 

That filler is almost always completely relevant

 

She's like a girl version of Calvin of Calvin and Hobbes, but uses kid vocabulary and not as self-absorbed.

Also is the series over? I've read the first few volumes.

(also I like how the Yotsuba&! artist uses hatching for greys instead of always using halftone)

 

I probably won't read any manga until I finish at least my JFZ series, but I heard Crystal Hunters is a good one for beginners.
