The Simpsons

So... The Simpsons is a drama show now... and there's supposedly a big audience for it.

TBF the show was a lot more serious early on and would deal with real-world problems like the family dealing with money issues. But they also remembered to include things like jokes.

 

Like I said in the KF thread, the "humor" in Zombie Simps is all "THIS IS A JOKE AND HERE IS HOW IT IS FUNNY".

 

Virtual Springfield was a pretty good point-and-click game from the late '90s. Although the animation was sometimes on par with CD-i Zelda.

 

Remember when whatbadgerseat.com wasn't just a redirect to the FOX website?

(it was this interactive flash thing on what badgers eat in the art style of the show)

Homer had an email address too. From what I heard Homer "himself" would respond to emails but I'm sure it's been abandoned for years.

This sounds like it's right out of a Simpsons episode. In fact...

Last night's episode was like watching a Sonichu comic.

If the title alone doesn't scream "How do you do, fellow kids?" they reference TikTok, "doxxing" [sic] and Mrs. Lovejoy is called a "Karen". Then it turns into an heist movie parody where Homer tries to unload everything about himself OFF! THE! INTERNET!

He stops when he realizes he'll also delete information about other bad people. Throw in a Trump joke and a weirdly timed line about "a lot of Russian Generals". Then Homer apologizes and all is right with the world. If there was a tag at the end I didn't see it.

For what started out as a rehash of "Homer Badman" it sure, uh, took a different turn.

 

I think of Zombie Simps as if it's a different show now...

The Simpsons ended after season 10 or sometime soon after.

 

We're well passed "Zombie Simpsons" at this point.

 

Early Simpsons (like the Tracey Ullman shorts) are like the Primordial Era.

Good Simpsons is like the Stelliferous Era.

Zombie Simpsons is like the Degenerate Era.

Current Year Simpsons is like the Black Hole Era?

 

That is a spot-on description.

 

So if the show drags on, it could eventually become like the Dark Era: a void where pretty much nothing happens?

The Simpsons really knew how to cram as many jokes as possible into a single scene.


Look at the happy smiling guy on the poster compared to the burnout lighting a cigarette behind Homer.
