    I miss this show. I don't have cable and my mom converted to radical Christianity and made me stop watching it when I was ten or so. I wish it was on netflix.

    While is true that the quality of the Simpsons has declined over the years, do you guys think the newest seasons are really as bad as people like to claim, or they are just meh and look bad compared to the classic episodes? How do you think they compare to other current comedy shows?
    What are some hidden gems hidden in the sea of episodes that try way too hard to stay up to date and comment on current issues?

    "Barthood" is one of the better new episodes I've seen lately.

    imo they aren't really completely unwatchable but don't expect classic Simpsons quality.

    This season's Treehouse of Horror is a disappointment though, other than that this season is ok.

    Around season 9 or 10 is when the episodes start to have a real noticeable drop in quality. Nowadays it is boring as mush, not terrible, but so bland and unremarkable that it seems like no one notices it still exists, yet it still gets millions of viewers somehow.

    I wish the show was more like what it was in the first season. Back then they weren't trying to act like they had to animate these guys a particular way and the world of Springfield was still pretty vast and unexplored.


    I still love what the original pilot to "Some Enchanting Evening" did to piss off Matt & Co.
