I see it as having no more meaning than wearing an "I'm with stupid" t-shirt with an arrow on it.

Chris's "random access humor" is more often than not equating incoherent nonsense to wit, so that's probably more accurate than I think lol

 

So it's another example of his horrendous theory of mind: he knows the meaning so he thinks anyone else knows?

 

People who think they're the main character think that everyone else wants what they want and that everyone else thinks what they think. Even though that's not even how main characters work in fiction.
