So, as a primer, this is really not how we should be treating new members here. At all. This level of cannibalization towards her in this case should not be pointed at someone who hasn't actually done a goddamn thing except post a link and show a fair bit of naiveté over Chris conventions that are commonplace to folks who have been around a while or at least got into Chris from different forums.

As you can see, just a link to a Discord. Nothing actually bad or endorsing trolling plans on the Discord, just a place to document streams and more or less be like the Club Discord. However, the thread devolved into screaming like banshees, and girlfriend saga troll accusations really quickly and was embarrassing for almost everyone involved. Even I'm not above this.

Here's the thing, there was no need for this. Just the simple advice of "Hey, we've got our own discord, you might want to check out the rest of our threads before you dive right in. Making friends here is going to be a lot different than on usual forums due to the subject matter but would be easier if you joined some existing threads with folks that seem friendly."

Instead, this just got stupid real fast. Here's the thing, following and/or trolling Chris in an organized manner has been around for 10 and a half years now. This is unique among lolcows, any that predate Chris are long faded into obscurity and Chris has the most mainstream and Youtube presence of any of them. It's been around so long now that there are folks who haven't gotten into following him from forums talking about him or following a random snarky comment down the Fanta-filled rabbit hole but instead from mainstream Youtubers and outlets. Moreso as the Club gains traction. The CWCki isn't going to document the culture that Kiwi Farms or anywhere cut from the same cloth has built up, nor the non-golden era memes, nor the ever-changing definition of A-Log.

The point is, we've gotta be more inclusive to new members who haven't followed in from any Chris-centric forums. Point them in the right direction first if they're not overtly breaking any rules. Be nice. Until it's time to not be nice. Giving $1200 to hang out with him at Bronycon is a good reason to not be nice. Giving $1000 for Chris' hand-drawn spank bank is a good reason. Flaunting your ability to talk to and influence him on us following him is a good reason. But other than cases like that, it's not your call. Use the report button and move on.

I'm leaving this stickied as a wall of shame and hope that anyone else who comes in gets a chance to learn the ropes.

Okay so apparently the KF and CWCki Club servers just weren't enough.

 

You could always use the clubs discord, that talks about Sonichu occasionally

Were the emojis really necessary though? I feel the cutesy banner was unnecessary- I didn't even know there was cwc servers until today so I guess I shouldn't complain because I learned something out of this?

 

I wanted to make it catch people's attention, which it did. I just like rainbow stuff since it makes me happy. :3

Actually we talk about stuff like Chris's tweets, Youtube videos, and keep a look out for any possible Twitch streams. :0

Sorry, I don't really understand how the mechanisms of this website work since I don't ever use forum-based sites. I'll try to figure it out and thank you for telling me.

I'm not exactly sure what a "ween" is, but the only thing about my name that is true is that my first name is [mod-edit]. The "Viola Kelly" part is just the names of my 2 cats from my childhood. I just liked their named and added onto mine to use online. I used CWCville as the title of my server since it was all I could think of.

I had read the rules of the website before signing up yesterday and before members told me, I didnt know that there was other Discord servers floating around. I'm apologize if I have caused you or any of the members here any problems.

 

Then research it. Look around before joining. Get a feel of the type of userbase this site has. That's what I did, and I fit in like a hand in a glove (or at least my hands do).

That's bullshit. How could you know about Chris and this website and not know what weens are? Especially considering we're going through a ween plot right fucking now and never shut up about it. It's a bit redundant if you join a CWC forum and you're not familiar with the basic lingo of the community. Perhaps you're feigning ignorance...

It's literally at the top of the chat page. How can you not miss it.

I looked up what a "ween" was and now I understand. There is no need to get mad at me for not knowing what a single term is.

I saw that tab but I thought it was like a chat built into the website like deviantART. I've only been on the site for 1 day, give me a break. I'm still exploring stuff.

 

That's nice and all but it just seemed... Strange I guess but maybe that's just cause I'm a grumpy pussy. It also may be because the format is really out of place with how this site is ( though you're a new member and I can see you're unused to how things are here ).

But hey you do you ya know? I'd suggest maybe getting more of a feel of how things are here before making a thread and promoting your server though but maybe now I'm saying that too late.

 

Maybe it's all just a ruse to "troll" us. If it is then it's a pretty pathetic one.

 

I'm sorry you feel that way about me. I just find everything interesting and wanted to talk to people with similar interests.
Sorry for trying to communicate with you guys, it seems that I don't fit the standards here by a long shot.
Also i just like rainbows, why is that a bad thing? It makes me happy.
