WTF Am I Reading: It's once again THAT time lads. The time in which I blog post about a niche online reality TV show that is oddly still fitting here on cwcki.club. I love Fishtank as a show and this is an excellent outlet for my rants to and do power rankings. And if one rando actually checks it out as a result, well then hey I've done my job and they've got good taste too. Won't run through the full marathon of "what is Fishtank again". But I'd like to at least point out the game changes this season. If you want a solid paragraph of "What is Fishtank" more or less, please read my original Season 1 into here: https://cwcki.club/index.php?threads/fishtank-live.2428/ I failed at regularly updating my Season 2 thread after each and every elimination. Going to -try- and do at least more this time around, but one per elimination probably won't happen unless there's a major happening. Most of the same structure, lengths, and rules apply to this Season3 run. This main spin is that this time around is that 9 of the 10 contestants don't even know they are on Fishtank to begin with! This season of Fishtank is known to them as "The Famous House". This was done as a reactionary move done by production after complaints that FAR too many members of Season 2 simply knew too much going in. Almost every single contestant of Season 2 KNEW about Fishtank ahead of being dumped into the Tank on the day of shooting. Even worse, many Fishtatnk Season 2 members were already fans of Fishtank, MDE, and Same Hyde as the host at large. While this ended up not completely ruining the show, it was a major contention point among fans which more or less took away some of the magic and initial intent. Rumor has it they went thought a casting agency this time around paired with less attributable adverts on sites like Craigslist that could more readily be tied to a Fishtank casting call. But pitched under the name "Famous Hose" rather than Fishtatnk to help remove some of those same problematic fan applicants. The end results is this new cast believe they on possibly a more qualified show along the lines of Big Brother, but will soon find out they've joined the hell house of Fishtank! Currently, many of the usual audience participation features Fishtank are known for are disabled. The main being the text-to-speech is still only enabled in a very limited fashion. Contestants still do not know they are being actively streamed live (3 has suspicions). As time goes on in the next 5 weeks, I am guessing these features will be slowly enabled and things will turn into the usual hell house landscape of the Tank. Recommendations: Honesty, the same as before! Fishtank can be a super hard sell to most people with trying to convince your average lad to pick in up and start watching. As with past seasons, watching live is rough. Hard to get invested when starting off by live watching alone. This is true even if you've shelled out for the season pass with access to all the tank's 15 live cameras. As a massive fan myself, I still only watched maybe 3hr live a week. If I catch wind there's going to be an elimination, a new guest, or an upcoming contest, that's usually when I'll tune in live for a little bit. Instead, I watch almost all Fishtank content via the wonderful reuploader community who manage to do either daily digest summaries, or simply capture short notable clips. Best sources for those are going to be YouTube and Twitter. Scanning through the top Twitter reuploaders new posts keeps me super well informed, just starting with the earlier mentioned one of https://x.com/vilerat_ is solid enough for some. My Power Rankings: The fun part! Here's my breakdown of this season's Fishtank contestants. I personally like doing my own rankings as a combination between how well I think they are doing as contestants paired with simply liking them as a person. Which is an interesting point to think about in general, as with reality shows the person who you'd most likely grab a beer with and like as a real person, often isn't who you think may win or is necessarily the best for the show with generating fun content. So yeah mine is sorta blended between both. 1. - Burt - He’s the only clear one that is for sure unstable enough to be on par with some past Fishtank contestants. He's confirmed schizophrenic. Obviously there’s plenty of mental issues to go around with others in season 3, but Burt feels special as being a genuinely super smart dude that is plagued with his schizo thoughts and other demons. As an openly and active gay escort, can't help but feel his lifestyle isn't doing him many favors in that department. That being said he's the overwhelming most endorsed contestant (me included). He seems like a genuinely great guy on top of having the most camera worthy moments so far. He's a content goldmine. People are also excited about Burt because of his slight liability. On top of being a schizophrenic, it's pretty clear he has a murder and rape fetish. Production has eyes everywhere, and I highly doubt they'd let anything actually amount to full blown crime...on air. If Burt DOES lose his mind and act on his demons, there may be some legal scuffles down the road. But I don't think anything will actually be carried out fully. Keep your eyes on Burt once the Tank goes full hell house. 2 - Alex - He’s this season’s Jon/Jimmy as a loud mouth who 100% makes content on his own with no prompting. I don’t think I like him too much a person, he seems very scrubby and obsessed with reality TV shows. He did apparently play a ton of competitive Counter Strike back in the day, but other than that not much in common with him. He is naturally funny, maybe more so than Burt. So keeping him around until the last week at minimum would be super smart. Obnoxious at times when he goes too deep into the weeds on his rants, but we need it at times more than most would know. Also I think a lot of fans (and me) simply feel bad for him. His wife ended up finding out about being live on Fishtank and tracked him down via his phone's location. She's already made an attempted police SWAT on the house (failed) and is claiming she's divorcing Alex the second he gets back home. Poor dude. He's nothing nothing legitimately wrong, he even goes as far as like using a closed fist whenever he touches most female contestants. But his wife is convinced he's macking on them hoes. Also he owns pet monkeys. Hope the monkeys survice the divorce. 3. - Mizzy - Tragic failed artist, she’s had the most online presence out of anyone and it’s all miserably shitty short form comedy sketches and songs. Plus there was one full length feature film that she seems to have funded, directed, and cast herself as a the main star in it. Haven't had the chance to watch it yet, butt if it's anything like her other uploads it may be worth a watch under the presumption of "so bad it's funny". Production already slipped her some slight red pills on the true nature of the show with it having a live audience. Most everyone else is still under the impression that episodes are instead being released on Hulu with a few days worth of lag time for editing. Her reactions since then have been mint. Staring off into space randomly likely questioning her choices with signing up for "The Famous House" and then now constantly holding up signs to the cameras for the audience. She’s not really conventionally attractive, but below the neck she’s way better than Alexis. Before they learned of the cameras they both changed a few times in full view. So yes, gotta sadly admit she's getting some slight simp points from me. How the hell are her thighs that big when she isn't big?? 4. La’Ron - This self described "little gay black boi from the Chicago projects" has very much grew on me. I don’t think I like him all that much as a person, but he is 100% is playing the contest in itself far better than anyone else even thought he doesn’t know he’s on the Tank. Like Alex, he's obsessed with reality TV shows, likely even more so. With that background, he was the first Fish to successfully pull off a heist by working with another contestant in an alliance to pull the wool over the eyes of everyone else in order to steal player funds without being suspected. (This season they are using candy as currency rather than Fishbux, but thinking this was just done for Halloween and may now switch back over to something else they've used before. La'Ron Reminds me like those NY Times Square speed chess hustlers, he’s a gamer, he’s swindlin, and absolutely knows what he’s doing far better than anyone else in terms of actually winning this thing by any means necessary. 5. Alexis - I feel like most of the audience that supports her only do so because they think she's hot. But she looks absolutely ragged for 30. Probably also helped that she's constantly flashing her ass, on purpose, to the camera. It hasn't been happening quite as much lately so seems like maybe the production staff mentioned something. Outside of that she doesn't seem all that interesting. However she's got the whole major desperate single mother vibes going on which has been amusing at times. Based on the lack of single men on the show at this point, sadly this will likely not evolve into the potential drama that I hoped it would. But she's still the top catty bitch after La'Ron so I think she's worth keeping for a while to hopefully scheme some more with him. 6. Ian - The ironic vote. I’d love to place him higher as I’m amazed at how little one man can do. He lugs his suitcase around everywhere like he was accidentally cast on the show be is really a Mexican drug smuggler and is just trying to blend in until he can get his stash home. If production gives him a well thought out role, I want him staying. Otherwise no. He's by far the biggest "nontent" cast member out of all three seasons by a long show. Boy would just sleep his entire way through the show if allowed to. Has said maybe 20 sentences at most in the entire week that were actually audible. 7. - Ted - Harderest call at the moment imo. I see a lot of potential good moments from him but he’s a bit of a slow starter. I’d vote him second most “aware” after Mizzy on the actual true nature of the show without having been directly told. He's dropped the famous Fishtank line of "Where's the _____ in this joint?" three times now. Which for me, is a little too on the nose and coincidental. So right now, I don't think he's a quote on quote "plant", but I think he DOES know he's on Fishtank and maybe got a chance to at least flip through a few clips right before coming on the show. If that is indeed true, he's otherwise covering it up pretty well. But at the same time I can’t get a good read on how much. Maybe a sleeper who goes ham later? But for now not impressed, may indeed be because he's "in the know" and has to lurk more in the backfround for the time being. Absolutely do not want him to win in that case, feels like cheating given the intended premise is for everyone to not only not be Fishtank fans, but to have no idea of it going in. 8. - Simbol - like Ian, I think the jokes about Simbol could be stretched out further and make some amazing show moments. He's absolutely this season's current villain and has a negative reputation built up already with nearly every other cast member. Production purposely leaving him out of camera shots or contests has already become a running joke to aggravate him further. I want him to stay for a good long while off this alone because he's at least not giving up and has at least been present and involved with most of the other cast. If he gets pushed too far I think he's going to get discouraged and more or less give up. 9. - Binx - Probably my most controversial placement. As it seems like people love her and is the most popular female contestant after Alexis. Well, the most popular actually if we can discount all the gooners cranking it to Alexis during her changing sessions. But I just don’t see the content quality of Binx I do in the others. She’s seems nice enough, and I think after Burt she's probably the next most "non-normie" contestant. So I feel like people are able to relate with her a little more closely. Regardless I think her late game plays are going to dull. I get Josie vibes from her in a bad way, not autistic enough to do anything endearing, but fans will push for her so she will probably end up in the final four regardless. 10. - Smaack - Nontent. Once the cover is lifted and we go full blown Tank vibes with all of the features enabled and the audience unleashed fully with the text to speech messages, I think we absolutely get some good Smaack moments with her shock over it. But not enough to keep her around more than another week. She is at the very least participating well enough and isn't dead weight like Ian or Payton. Saving grace would be if she magically starts engaging more once text to speech is enabled or if she comes out of her shell more in general due to their being simply less people in the house. 11. - Payton - I think only support she has now is out of picking the most normal person that likewise isn't a catty bitch and isn't fugly. So for sure some of small amount of support could be coming from the people who thinks she’s hot. Absolutely do not agree. This basic ass white bitch needs to go. 12. - Luke - No comment, he gone sad times. Would have been worth keeping another week, but I feel like his departure may have been preplanned. He's the only one for absolute sure knew about Fishtank going into the show. And on purpose. He was previously a contestant on the last season of Big Brother and was forcibly kicked off due to saying the N-word. Amazingly the Big Brother fanbase caught wind of his appearance on Fishtank and has helped boost some of the social media chatter. Think we even stole a few fans from them via the few that weren't actually pissed about Luke's existence.
