I really love the first half of that movie where it's actually working with the concept of mocking America's militant aspirations, really falls apart in the second half where it blames "Da angwy libruls" for DARING to protest against the war in Iraq

Factor in the fact that, unlike in the movie, in real life there were no WMDs and the whole sentiment of "But we NEED America to be imperialist to keep us safe!111" the second half of the movie has going on ages like milk left in a car all summer.

Matt and Trey's satire is normally really funny and on the up-and-up, but when they get it wrong, the results are really cringe.

I never seen Team America in full but honestly, I can at least imagine the shit would not age poorly probably if they leaned more into how fucked up Team America is. Then again if they did a sequel to it, I can imagine they'd have more than enough shit to mock the fuck out of conservatives, Christian nationalist, and anyone trying to justify getting into wars with Iran for a regime change or trying to acquire Greenland the "easy way or hard way."
