Christian Weston Chandler's Adult Chronicles by Maple

A quick visit to the Kiwi Farms made me remember this old beast, and I'm really curious as to just what the fuck happened with it. The last update for the game was in November 2015, and Maple dropped off the face of the earth shortly after. I was so (and I don't really like to use this word) hyped for the game ever since she started it back in 2011(?), so it's pretty disappointing to see it just sort abruptly die. Does anyone know what happened to Maple, and what she's doing now?

 

According to the cwcki page Chris found out about the game in November 2015 (same time as the last update). Could there be a connection?

 

she probably lost interest in it and decided to dedicate her time to something other then a fat autistic transsexual. Fan games are almost always dropped, its not weird that this one was also dropped as well.

 

Or maybe she died from a curseyehameha.

But seriously, maybe she feared legal repercussion from Chris for making a game that paints him in a bad (albeit realistic) light.

 

I kind of doubt that, since the game falls under parody. I'm more inclined to believe what @Alpha Loves You said.

 

Yeah. At that point, it's not going to be surprising if Maple dropped the project due to lack of interest. As far as I remember, the game was in development as far back as 2012 (before the Kiwi Farms had it's current name, Null's ownership of the Farms, and the existence of this forum).

Much as the game is dead, it at least provides some fun in fighting against a roach in kitchen and stealing money from Barb.

 

She got people's Kickstarter money, then realized that if she made an alpha just good enough to get money but not good enough for people to remember then she could keep the money without having to release a game or give out any prizes to backers.

It's the same thing that happened with that MMPR reboot they tried in 2013. They made a kick-ass trailer, got a shit ton of Kickstarter money, plugged the shit out of every Sundance-wannabe project that the chick playing the Blue Ranger was in, then disappeared with everybody's money.

 

A shame really. Still I wouldn't mind if the souce code was made available so someone else could take a wack at it.

 

I agree, as I enjoyed what little existed of that game. However, she will probably hold onto them in case she wants to get money from morons again.

 

There's that. Whenever that happens. Someone always pays.

 

Chris doesn't think Parody is covered. Remember the whole Asperchu fiasco? Or the Moon Pals?

 

I remember seeing the thread about back when Kiwi Farms was CWCKi Forums and I was an offsite lurker. It looked like a fun game. Thank you for reminding me of its existence OP!

It also didn't help that the directors making the MMPR reboot made complete asses out of themselves on Rangerboard, then got told by everybody on there to fuck off.

 

I have only seen plays of it online. I don't think i've seen much- but almost everyone starts off battling the Kimmi/ JULAY doll, and they make Chris's sanity low by talking to Sonichu

 

It's a bummer that Maple stopped working on it. I'd really like to see someone else take a crack at this kind of game.

 

Okay, they apparently added an in-game CCG.... and it looks like that's about it.

They went on hiatus over the Incestchu Saga. It's not a hiatus if you've barely worked on something in four years.

 

Don't forget it mostly looking to be a one man job. Laziness or not, doing it by oneself will always take a long ass time. And then there's also the Twitter for it.

Very slow but steady progress is all it seems to have.
