Choose your own Adventure Game: Heart Quest

I'm starting to think that ring of protection isn't meant to be worn on your finger...

 

Okay, so you follow the wizard, Max, huh? Here is what happens:

So, you agree to follow Max, but Tym protests and decides he will go his own way. You are all like, "whatever" and decide to go with Max. Anyways, Max and you find a secret entrance behind a waterfall and your ring begins glowing super bright. Then this creepy thing happens:

"Max wraps his sinewy arms around your shaking body. "It's all right, Licia," he whispers confortingly. He begins to caress the back of your neck very gently. You relax as the warmth of his touch spreads over you. Then slowly you become aware that Max's wiry body is pressing against yours. He grabs your arms, pulls you close. You are so surprised by the sudden change in Max's gentle touch that you grow limp for a moment, unable to protest. As his strong grasp draws you more tightly against him, you become frightened.

Don't Max, please let me go! You look up into his face. The handsome scholar is no longer recognizeable. His dark eyes are clouded and his hot breath is rapid. His powerful hands grip your arms so tightly that he bruises you, even through the armor."

You obviously shout stranger danger and Max snaps out of it and he apologizes that he lost control of himself, but of course, Licia forgives him for now because he is hot. Anyways, Max is able to see through the illusion to reveal the true path in the secret passage and tells you to come follow him and you hear him calling to you telepathically from the distance to follow him.

Here are your options:

If you decide to follow Max through the secret passage turn to page 97

If you wish to catch up and find Tym turn to page 102

If you wish to cross the bridge to the tower, turn to page 94

Max shouts "I can't get out" and you run to Tym. You don't see Tym, just the rope, so you have to climb up the waterfall alone so you do that, but Tym comes back and lifts you back up happy that you came back. You tell him how Max disappeared and thinks you made the right decision. You two go ahead and find the back door to the tower
