A weeks ago I actually looked up to see if Walsh was still working for the collage, what a consequence.
I think Mary Lee Walsh occupies an interesting place. She is a completely normal and successful person, yet one autistic person because of one or two meeting with her has made her the primary antagonist of his Roger rabbit reality, spawning many, many rule 34s. Imagine your a school counselor and you've been working for years helping students, you've worked with students who have severe mental illnesses and you've worked with students who have anxieties about test taking. Then one day your sent a student who harassing girls, you tell him that they going to suspended him for a day because he was already warned; he shouts in your face and get suspended for longer, this is pretty normal for you. Now imagine that student, behind closed doors he writes a thousand page manifesto against you in his twisted view of realty, he isolates himself because everyone who saying anything other then praise to him is branded a villain in his eyes. It like living in apartment next to a serial killer, you've only met once and aren't even aware your next to each other, but just on the other side of the wall he's cutting your name into his arms.

Like I said over on KF, it seems a sign of autism (is there anything autism doesn't mess up?) is to be impacted by confrontations more than normal. In extreme cases, an autistic person may even go so far as to think that if they're on good terms with someone, the other person can't say anything bad -- and if they do it's a shocking betrayal. Combine that with CWC's terminally obese ego and his terminal inability to let go of grudges*, and it's no surprise he still bears a grudge against MLW.

*(he probably still resents the people who told him "sonic is dead" as kids)

True, but there are awkward kids doing inappropriate things who need to be disciplined or counseled and then there are people like Chris who solicit on campus and talk to their imaginary friend when called into the dean's office.

Two things about lolcows - they do outrageous things that no normal person would do, and second, they see absolutely nothing wrong with what they're doing.

 

I fear the day Mary dies because I don't want to see Chris' response.

I’m still confused by how Chris got even an associates degree. There are some real dummies who go to community college and make it through but Chris by all accounts is borderline retarded, he’s no savant. I just can’t imagine him being able to concentrate on or comprehend even easy college level math or science. And AutoCad is pretty complicated, how did he get da certificate? It’s not high school they don’t just push stupid people through so they don’t have to deal with them....or do they?

 

he failed a few classes and took 6 years to get a degree (community college students who work full time and go to school part time sometimes take that long, but obviously, Chris wasn't working at the time)
Most of his teachers probably held his hand through his classes, it's not that difficult to imagine him getting through.

Being good at CAD and being able to use CAD are two things entirely. In high school I actually got a CAD certificate which is the CAD part of the degree, the rest of the degree is basic engineering and elective/core courses. All in all the degree takes two years to get but with some planing I think you can get it done in one year, or a year and a half. As @ICanFeelTheCosmos0704 said, it actually took Chris six years to graduate with a year he spend suspended. Given what we know of Chris' academic skills and work habit it's understanable how it took him so long, as for him finishing it I'm sure Bob had something to do with it, otherwise Chris might have actually believed he needed it, but I doubt it. I have a feeling Chris was less retarded then, then he is now, I sure all this time sitting on his ass, playing vida, and watching cartoons has rotted his brain more then any of he fantasy shit recently.

The moral of the story is stay in school.

 

I agree- 2000 to 2006 Bob was in his mid to late 70s and was more active and was able to get Chris to go work on it. I don't remember when Chris was put on the tugboat, but Bob expected Chris to be a worker and a contributing member of society at one time.

And as noted above, Chris hadn't declined so much mentally and cognitively back then as he has now. I doubt Chris reads much or does anything that is cognitively challenging, and he's pretty isolated. Just being forced to do a light academic load and being forced to interact with people on a regular basis would have improved his mental health.

It's amusing to see a relationship like this. It's like a typical neckbeard who sees a girl at a coffee shop and marks his calendar and forever treats it like a damn national holiday but the girl is just like "What? Who? That guy that stood behind me in line for five minutes? Oh."

Old lady dean is old – and amusingly, probably saw many more crazy college dudes she had to confront for longer and more serious situations before Chris and many more after him. He'd probably be like, at most, 383rd in a list of all the stupid lunkheads she had to deal with on that campus. It's college, kids do stupid shit. Some rowdy Phi Theta Kappa alpha males probably have more presence in her aging brain than Chris ever did or will.
