with regards to the title - does Godzilla have friends

 

sounds more like a "wee-ohh" than a "shreonk"

 

I added "and friends" to include stuff like Gamera too plus I mean, isn't Mothra his friend sorta? She helps him a lot fighting stuff (and often dying in the process)

 

I watched Godzilla: King of the Monsters
it's the one with the Perry Mason actor as a reporter (yes, Raymond Burr played Perry Mason)
I thought it was pretty good

A few weeks ago, I watched Shin Godzilla and everyone talked about how scary it was, but I didn't find it scary, I thought it was super funny at how incompetent the government was in those movies.

 

Mothra is pretty great. Maybe my third favorite kaiju behind Gamera and Godzilla.

The Rebirth of Mothra trilogy is interesting. It is actually about Mothra's son, Mothra Leo who basically acts like a shonen protagonist the whole trilogy (at least as much as a kaiju can that is). Also, the fights reminds me of people playing pretend on the playground where everyone just pulls random powers out of their asses when fighting each other.

Pretty cheesy, but I like it. I cried when Mothra died even though she dies pretty much every movie.

 

Did anyone see the new teaser for the upcoming Godzilla movie?

I absolutely DESPISE titles like there, where they could describe literally ANY entry in the series.

Like Highlander 2: The Quickening (The Quickening is a thing in every Highlander film) or for an example of a GOOD series that does this, there's an entry in the Shantae series called "Shantae: Half-Genie Hero!"

Shantae's Half-Genie and has been since the first game in the series, if this were the first game in the series that would be acceptable, but since it's not this is like naming a game "Sonic The Hedgehog: Blue Blur" or "Mortal Kombat: People Die In This One"

Anyway, I saw Godzilla X Kong today and I loved it. I'm happy they told a story about King Kong where he does stuff to move the plot forward and expand himself as a character, instead of doing the typical boring thing of "Humans will stand around talking until it's time for the monsters to fight"
