I only donate to veteran, children and animal charities. A grown man in his 30s who refuses to take responsibility and already collects disability for a phony behavioral disorder doesn't deserve charity. You know they're probably gaming the system for every penny they can get and living a lot better than a lot of struggling people.

If it wasn't for over spending, they would own a home free and clear, never need to work could spend all day eating junk food and being white trash with cable tv and once a year snag a fancy new iphone or something, hell even a vacation.

I do wonder if they have sunk to hit places like food donations up, help reduce costs. I have a friend who's a bit younger than I grew up in the sticks and his family used to factor hunting into the food budget. They never once complained it was hard to keep their house warm in winter and got expensive so a few deer made up for the fact food money went to heating.

As I've grown older and older I've met more and more good poor people and makes me hate the trash like Chandlers. Be a lotto win or some magic way to get 10k a month income they would still end up broke every end of the month. They just don't care, and are entitled.

Always check with Charities, my friend whom is a vet is the one to tell me how nasty some of them are. I used to support Wounded Warrior but not anymore with the shit they pull.

Yes, they do live better than some who work. When I was a student and working, there was a time 20 dollars a week fed me. I had a world change since I was poor going to a poor area to buy food and getting looked at by morbidly obese black women look down at me or like I was trash, with my cans of beans ramen and lunch meats. While they swiped EBT and loaded up on cheetos Pepsi, and mircowave dinner. That's what got me, it was ALL the stereotypes, and they looked at me like I was trash. I couldn't even GET support because I had an IRA that counted against me. Yes, I was punished for trying to retire and saving money when I was younger and could afford it.

Ahh, thank you. We have that here at our Walmarts, both the Kraft and Great Value version, tried them once and did not like them.

Also, the hell is that crap about poor people not being able to afford good food at low prices? I lived on nothing but rice, noddles, vegetables and fruits for years (with the ocassional ground beef, sausage pack or frozen burger patties for protein) and I did fine, without any struggle or malnourishment issues.

Hell, one of my favorite budget recipes was a hearty soup made out of ground beef with veggies (shredded carrot, garlic, red pepper and fresh cilantro) and a handful of soup noddles that couldn't cost over $3 and I got two bowls out of it. Other great budget recipe was nothing but white rice with stir-fried ground beef and sliced green onions and for drink I always had tea, which costs less than $2 for a 100 bags box.

The hell is this "we can't affod good food" bullshit?

Blame shifting, it's just that. It's one of those things debunked time and again, but the people who push it are using the old tell a lie over and over tactic.

People who claim this, want to be waited on and given more free stuff. Anyone with 1/3rd a brain knows better and anyone who REALLY cares about the health of the poor or their ability, to get food will research and find out how bullshit that claim is. Sadly it's not new to use emotional blackmail as a talking point, it's just more seen since the net.

It's also often tied into obesity as if some how you can't afford food and get fat because science...

Now in defense, things get more difficult if you are homeless or lack a place to cook but it's not a very good excuse as yes, might be boring you can pop a can of chick peas or kidney beans and slurp em down, for better health and less money than the dollar menu. Look if you are sleeping under a bridge that 11 cents will add up quickly and matter.

In the case of Chris and Blob, they are lazy so they aren't as upset they can't afford a cut of sirloin, they are upset someone else doesn't make them something. The entire economic chain to them is lost why a steak costs 20 dollars to eat out. They just want to stuff themselves cheaply and can't see how it's fair that having other people prepare your food (be it at a restaurant or pre packaged) denies them hoard money.

Both in the Bob McKim thread and on the various begging threads there have been talk of what poor people could do to stretch their money to buy food. Both the McKims and Chandlers are hoarders and would rather take handouts and buy crap they don't need to feed their respective hoards or to make themselves feel better than to actually improve their lives with the cash they get.

In case anyone cares, I'll spoiler the off-topic cheap food suggestions

Everyone probably knows about these - rice and beans, baked potatoes with a variety of toppings, noodles and a cheap sauce
A tip for travelers I read recently - carry a jar of mustard and peanut butter - you can get bread cheap to make PB sandwiches and the mustard will make just about anything edible
Someone on KF said they lived off turkey SPAM, canned vegetables, and those little plastic containers of fruit cocktail while in college
Someone on KF said you can buy peanut butter, bread, noodles and sauce, powdered milk, granola bars and fruit for a low price
Processed food - mac and cheese (like the Void said), stuffing/dressing (whatever people call it), mashed potatoes, Rice a Roni type of rice - just go easy on this, there's a lot of sodium and other bad stuff in it

I agree on that last part and I find it rather disgusting that these two hoarders can get benefits as opposed to a veteran who went to hell and back for his fellow citizens only to get an insufficient amount of benefits if any

I think that is sick, plus it doesn't help that with there combined tugboat, they get i think around 2000 dollars last i checked, maybe less but still that is a shit ton per month for two who don't do anything. And yet they wonder and ponder and scam and sell just to support there habits, while real people with real issues would literally kill to get that kind of income. One of the reasons i don't really have any Sympathy for Chris and his situation since he dug himself into it. If he has a ounce of sense he would be living off fine, even without a job.

I have no sympathy for chris for the exact same reasons as you said, he willfully brought his own shit upon himself and the fact that he can exploit taxpayer's money to buy meaningless shit gives those who want to abolish social security a justification for doing so. If chris was an actual veteran or wasn't wasting money on junk and legit made efforts to get a job then I would cut him some slack but he isn't

Think about the quality of life they could have had, 2k a month, paid off house, small car payment, normal bills. Really factor all that in rural VA let's say, 1k a month. That's 1k a month, for fuck off money, or investing. That wasn't good enough for them so begged borrowed and stole everything they could and then jumped on the begging again when credit cards wouldn't cough up more money on them.

I know but you're missing the point. She knows she can sell the necklace, but she wont because of vanity and a massive ego. As I said she thinks she's royalty, that she deserves expensive jewelry, and even when begging she feels its necessary for her to wear it. Royalty isn't royalty without shiny things. I guarantee you, IF they sold that necklace the money they got for it would only be used to buy ANOTHER necklace to replace it.

Hell she is so delusional about her "royalty" and her ego that if she could wear a fancy hundred thousand dollar crown while begging she WOULD in a heart beat to show off to the "unwashed fans" that they ask of money from.

It's probably worth remembering that hoarding is a mental illness. Chris and Barb's lives suck, and they're both crazy people who do weird, self-destructive shit compulsively. Getting mad at them is mostly pointless, especially as it is more fun to point and laugh at the foibles.

The pawning of the neckless and it's quick replacement makes me think they get shoppers high, people whom do that tend to get hoards as buying shit makes them happy, now I'm not a shrink but I've heard some say some think the hoard is a side effect other say that's part of hoarding.

I think while none of us deny they have awful lives, there's really nothing preventing them from a much better life, if they chose not to be the way they are. Chris got care early on, meaning that door was open, he was on the short lists for mental health support. But we'd need a time machine to fix any of this.

I've met lower functioning mentally, or more physically disabled whom can keep a tidy home (at least safe no rat droppings) even work, whom aren't scamming etc. I know sometimes myself and others seem a touch a-loggy but we all have our knocks in life denying it until you get caught with your hand in the cookie jar then using it as an excuse for any piss poor choice isn't right.

I know myself and hope others aren't mad, but more like anger and shocked. When I see Barb's new neckless, I'm not steaming like if you key my car, I'm yelling like when the lady in the horror movie thinks this abandoned sleep over camp is a good place to hide.

In the US, it's usually sold as "macaroni and cheese", especially from Kraft, but in Canada, it is still called 'Kraft Dinner" (which I read was also used in the US originally).

I guess in Canada they're a little more strict in what they define as macaroni and cheese...or dinner...or actual food

Probably why they don't have any problem with putting "Sugar" in the title of a cereal. Post sells "Sugar Crisp" rather than "Golden Crisp" down here.
