YouTube Clickbait Thumbnails (Painfully Tryhard Edition)

I remember a relevant I Hate Everything's video...

(ironically he changed the thumbnail since then, which contained clickbait clichés)

 

The 1000 degree knives are also quite common, like 1000 DEGREE KNIFE VS COCA COLA

and its a 6 minute video.. you have to watch about 4-5 minutes in to see the cola

 

When the thumbnail/title refers to a moment that only happens during a couple SECONDS during a 7-10 minute video.

Another type of thumbnail that really grinds my gears:
The review video thumbnail where it's just the film's/game's cover with the reviewer's face photoshopped on a character's head.

Insult is added to injury when this happens after the reviewer used to have actually drawn title cards, and now goes for this cheap crap.

 

So basically, the Nostalgia Critic.

 

He decided to stick with the cheap "shop muh head on film poster" when he revived the series after "Demo Reel".
I wonder if he decided to not pay Marobot anymore.

And then there are YouTubers who are actually half-decent at art, but can't be bothered to draw more than their avatar and then paste it over all of their thumbnails, like I Hate Everything.

Though lately, the Game Grumps have decided to customize their Grump avatars more and more and their thumbnails look more diverse now. It's a little... unsettling.

I remember walking into a study hall back in high school to see a couple of emo kids
(you know the ones that wear every pop culture icon imaginable because hot topic sells them)
watching this. The video itself was already painfully unfunny but their banter made it even worse.

This thread needs to be revived, if only so we can continue dunking on MatPat and his lame "theories".
(Fun fact: he released this as soon as the (shitty) sequel was release, just to capitalize on its notoriety. MatPat's ability to be completely shameless in everything is almost admirable.)

 

The most annoying thumbnails are the ones with a "loud" or cluttered design, and a guy making a "soy face".

"MrBeast" videos - that I haven't seen yet they keep showing up - are a prime example of them.

What's weird is I've never seen it before the 2010s, and I still haven't seen it IRL.

 

YouTube trending tab is easy mode.

 

"Crappy voice acting" and he uses a picture of the Tidus laugh scene that always gets taken out of context.

(I know this one is relatively tame compared to the other ones, but still. It's so Damn annoying how often people ignore the full context of this scene, and act as if the laughing was NOT supposed to sound awkward and weird.)

 

GOD DAMNIT, MATPAT! CAN YOU PLEASE STOP WITH THIS CLICKBAIT SHIT ALREADY!? I'M TIRED OF SEEING IT!
