My other take, operas aside: Take a representative audio recording of Christory -- the Father Call, say -- and have an actor, on film or (preferably) on stage, lip sync Chris's words while he sits in a facsimile of the classic bedroom. Maybe you spice it up some with some Borb in the background.

Maybe you do this with several calls, showcasing Chris's degeneration.

Get someone with a hearty understanding of Samuel Beckett to direct it. They'd have to be comfortable with the fact that, probably due to potential issues regarding audio recordings and consent, this would never be anything but an underground presentation.

given the strong emphasis on mommy issues, the obvious answer is Oliver Stone

Here's a real stumper: whose going to be the one shameless enough to make the inevitable Chris Chan porn parody?

I'll do it. Fap to the extreme.

But in all seriousness, I considered making a Chris Chan musical. You could do some revolving set pieces to switch between Chris's room and CWCville. But holy fuck, that would require an enormous cast to do.

A wide cast of jerkops and women rejecting Chris is needed.

Also idea of a biopic: chapters focus on key parts of Chris' life with imaginary figments of Sonichu thrown in. Make that Mary Lee Walsh encounter and Manajerks all the more out there.

And that's one of the problems I would run into: the size of the cast. For most musicals, you want and actual cast of about 6-8 characters and a chorus/supporting cast of about the same amount. You also don't want your show to go on for more than three hours.

Granted, I could double-cast a lot of the sweethearts and some of the Miscreants, but I'd also have to have a chorus of jerkops and gal-pals. Not to mention, if I throw in the Chaotic Combo, they will be hard to double-cast because of the makeup and costumes.

The big issue with a musical, at least as I see it, is that, for the most part, musicals are driven by characters with irrepressible individual objectives. What's Chris-Chan's? You might say a sweetheart, but, if you think about it, the classic Love Quest was about half-assedly trying to follow societal expectations, i e. doing what other people want.

I would say throw the story to Dave Malloy and see what he'd do with it, but I want him to do a Terry Davis musical instead.

I'd be cool with Dave doing it. Comet of 1812 is pretty great. As a bass-baritone, "Dust and Ashes" is my new go-to audition piece.

He did it in a way that we'd have to do a Chris Chan musical: instead of doing all of War & Peace as a musical, he just did one part. So, which one part would we do? I would hate to do a Saga that doesn't include Clyde Cash, but all the Clyde Cash Sagas have a whole lot of main cast involved.

And if we just do one Saga as a musical, it's easier for our protagonist (Chris) to have a clear-cut goal.
