There was a time from about the mid 90s to the mid 2000s when the pc market was absolutely saturated with business simulation games. It seemed like you could just slap the word tycoon at the end of any of anything and make a tycoon game: mall tycoon, train tycoon, golf tycoon, school tycoon... trump tycoon. To be fair a lot of them were quick cash ins but some were genuinely good games like the legendary rollercoaster tycoon or the complex and open-source open transport tycoon. Discuss

I remember I had luxury liner Tycoon when I was a kid and made a ship with no bathrooms one time. I'm sure that was an interesting conversation with the stewardess.

I never had Rollercoaster Tycoon but my friend did. Murdering the guests was probably the best part. I was big into Zoo Tycoon, personally. I had the dinosaur and the aquarium expansions, and basically just made my zoos into dinosaur-unicorn-mermaid parks.

I remember Rollercoaster Tycoon when I was a kid, I got it and another simulator game from a cereal box when that was a normal thing that happened. When I found out that you could drown your guests and charge outrageous prices on everything from admission to using the bathroom I was delighted. Funny how most religions claim that if there is a God he must be benevolent, when most people who play God games end up tormenting people for a few hours before getting bored and abandoning the game, which is kind of in-line with the Christian thinking of God tormenting people with massive floods and plagues of frogs before mostly forgetting about us.
