Ok, please forgive me as a movie hosting show it might be better in film.

Svenghoolie has been a long running series dealing with bad horror and classic horror films, over 30 years and 2 hosts.

Both the current and former host have backrounds in radio and film. The current Richard Koz started under the first Svenghoolie, Jerry G. Bishop and was also the hand picker of current.

The show started in Chicago and got into syndication, with a brief return to local only. Now it's hosted by ME tv and country wide.

Basically it's like Elvira where they watch a bad movie and make bad jokes but, with a lot of good info if you enjoy classic horror. It's got that kitch you love or hate, I'm a big fan and very nice the rare quiet Saturday nights I have in.

METV is one of my favorite channels and I love watching Svenghoolie. I like how they've aired some lesser know horror flicks. A few weeks ago they had some 70's movie about a possessed car (apparently this was an actual genre back then). I also like when they go through the actors and list the better known movies they've been in. There have been a few that have surprised me.

Yea I happened to catch that one, the guy who built that car also did the 60s batmobile and some others.

The one that melted my autistic heart was in Ghost of Frankenstein the 4th in series. Bela Lagouci and Lon Cheny JR stayed in costume after shooting to play hide and seek with the little girl actress.

Tonight 8/5 is a Western vampire movie, but using Eastern Europe vampire Lore (where myth started) I'm going to record it since I'll be out. METV is a great station, it got me to order Kolche the night stalker, the show that gave the X-files it's premise.

This sat they put on the og Frankenstein from 31. And two added scenes that were cut. One where Dr Frankenstein yells "I know what God feels like" and the monster throws the child in the water (shown off screen before) doesn't change much but those clippings weren't common.

Also Boris Karloff is not listed and end of film. Just by his last name.

Igor isn't a thing the hunch back helper is fritz and kinda a scum bag.

I've been meaning to watch this for a while, looks like next week is The Incredible Shrinking Man, which sounds excellent.

In Ohio, we had a guy called Dr. Creep who did a similar thing from 1972 to 2010.

Yea that's a good one, I don't want to spoil it but has an ending most don't see coming.
This last Sat was part of the inner sanctum series all starring Lon Cheny Jr (the wolfman) the theme rolls along as it's the Mummy's curse, the last time Lon played the mummy. Granted Boris Karlov, also was the mummy in universal pictures, he was imhotep probably more famous for the mummy movie series. The movies with Lon the mummy is Kharis Ironically, for feature shots/promos they often used the Karloff mummy.

Next week is the 5,000 Finger of Dr. T, which is one of the trippiest goddamn children's movies ever made. Written by Dr. Seuss himself, and it looks just like a Seuss book brought to life. At the Hollywood premiere of Dr. T, audiences walked out within 15 minutes --it's just that far ahead of its time.

I've decided to watch some of these Cushing/Lee films. The 1959 version of The Mummy is excellent, and features a solid fight scene where Peter Cushing does an amazing Ong-Bak-style flying wall jump to stab the mummy with an arrow.

Last Saturday's episode was really good: Earth vs. the Flying Saucers.

I'd never heard of this movie before, but it features special effects by Ray Harryhausen that were way ahead of their time. The final battle scene has some amazing cinematography that seamlessly blends Harryhausen's magic with WWII stock footage.

Oh man EvtFS is a real classic. It's up there with the 1953 War of The Worlds and Forbidden Planet.
