Voyager is a lot like Captain Janeway; it wobbles between two extremes and is only semi-coherent. It has it's own share of good episodes and ideas, and I really do like several of the supporting characters (soft spot for the Doc). But it also had a lot of bad episodes, including one of the worst ever through all of the series. It also ignores the main idea they set up in the first season, and Janeway is legit written like garbage, which is why it's often stated you need to realize that Janeway is nuts to explain her logic.

I don't do that, but I am curious what others think of it, as I haven't seen most of it.

    No STNG season is bad.

Reminds me of that Simpsons Halloween episode where tiny people rapidly evolve in a petri dish in Lisa's room. Which is pobably based on an old scifi.

Sorry, but season 1 of TNG was terrible.

The last few Voyager episodes were actually pretty good.

When I was a child watching TNG, seasons 1-2 were my least favourite and 3-7 were my favourite, now I am a little older(30), seasons 1-4 are my favourites and season 7 is my least favourite, although it does have a cracking finale. As for the other series, I do have a soft spot for Voyager, although I prefer early seasons, when it was a more ensemble show and not just about The Doctor or Seven of Nine. I like Deep Space Nine, although I don't have much of a desire to watch it, as for Enterprise, i watched the first season and then gave up. I have not seen any of the original series.

They just seem off because Riker doesn't have a beard. I think that's 95% of the problem but people just can't put their finger on it.

The show is just starting out so everything feels new and "you're still getting used to it." I like that.

Another problem is that they tried to focus on Wesley way too much in S1 because they thought that would get kids interested in the show.

I think most people forget that when Season 1 came out, Wil Wheaton was considered a star and not just a way to get kids to watch it. You could easily argue he was the billed talent at the time.

I didn't know that. FWIW, Wil Wheaton is a pretty chill dude and probably a decent actor, his character was just badly written and annoying.

Sometimes those are the brakes in showbiz I suppose. Someone wanted that type of character and Wil filled that void.

Remember that time TNG predicted viral video games taking over people's lives?

It has a JJ Abrams "fixated on remaking TOS era" vibe to it.

I'd rate your post feels if I could.

I remember a rumor they were gonna be besties with the Klingons to point ship was like half Klingon because SJWs didn't want the idea of a war... but seems they will be the bad guys. I do have some faith to hear a rumor that had some clout with the fan base is gone. Klingons are a great "freimey" and a fun vice.

A lot of the TOS stuff didn't age well, and I think could be "refreshed" honestly some hasn't aged a day. I feel ST has a need to change classes of ships for lore reasons. Nerds love a growing lore (I know I do) but perhaps a TOS era show, but using another flag ship. If memory serves they FED had 11 ships like TOS Enterprise? We see a few get rekt but I feel you have a great canon to branch on, so for writers it's cake to make good stories that will also stick to the fans.

It'd be nice if the Star Trek franchise would just move on from the 23rd and 24th centuries and go into the future. There's an entire universe out there, and only one part of the Milky Way has been explored by the 24th century. Whatever happened to "the human adventure is only beginning?"
