That was parroting Blathers, the owl from Animal Crossing.

"Honor Roll" got the idea that one just says "but I digress" at the end of saying a lot from that. It really shows that he parrots stuff without really thinking about it.

 

I think a good two-thirds of the CWC-isms he spouts can be attributed to media. The other third are just good old-fashioned 'tism.

 

Which could be the results of putting parroted stuff in a mental blender.

for example: "(come out of your) shell" + "autistic" --> "autistic shell"

 

Exactly, sort of like how foreign characters on TV sometimes talk. Mixing up idioms and all that.

 

The "Sonichu" comics also reflect that parroted-thoughts-in-a-blender mentality.

Also it's odd how "Honor Roll" has lived in the USA for over 40 years, yet he speaks English as if it's not native to him. And even ESL people don't talk in such a freakishly awkward way.

 

It never used to be like that. We've seen footage of him from high school, and honestly even that 'future message' video he did in 2007. He sounded more 'normal', but the isolation and brain rot has caused that normality to disappear.

 

Funniest thing about that is that Blathers says it when he realizes he's been talking too much, and as the Cwcki said, Chris never uses it when he's actually boring people to tears.

 

Probably because when Chris actually is boring people he thinks he has something interesting to say. Not very self-aware, that Chris.

You know, I just realized something. If that dimensional merge shit Chris Chan has been spewing out since 2017 or 2018 was actually true, I'm pretty sure his dimensional merge counterparts would be these guys and not a goddess like he thinks.
