This is just a temporary placeholder until we get everything all fancified, but now that we're starting to filter in users it's probably a good idea to post the forum guidelines where people can see them. None of this should be new to experienced CWCki Forums users, but it never hurts to put up a sign.
    • Be Civil: This is a place for people to enjoy themselves. If you find yourself getting angry, you should probably take a break and relax a bit. (For a prime example of what not to do: How Not To Treat New Members)
    • Avoid Gimmick Posting: Neither playing a character nor pretending to be retarded is amusing for long, so please spare the community some cringe. This also includes using the font editor to change the formatting of your posts to make it your "thing."
    • No A-Logging: The things we cover here are objects of amusement. They may sometimes be annoying, but expressing fury at them in your posts does nothing but make you look bad.
    • No Offsite Drama: If you have issues with someone from another site or a Skype group, this isn’t the place to air them out. Take it up with them away from here
    • No Trolling Plans: We’re here for discussion, not direct involvement. If you insist on trolling, don’t brag about it or post your plans here. We’re not interested.
    • Back Up Everything: Archive, mirror, or screencap content rather than linking to it. We don’t want to lose content if the people who made it decide to delete their post or video.
    • Give Your Posts Substance: A post with simply a reaction image and/or a sentence or less that could have been said by literally anybody doesn't push forward conversation. Reaction images aren't bad on their own, but they can't be the entire post. If your post can't stand on it's own or doesn't add anything, then don't post it. These will be deleted on the spot.
    • No Backseat Modding: It's not your call to police what people do or say in a thread. If you do have a problem with a particular user's posts that we're not aware of please report them as we respond to reports fairly quickly. Yelling at someone because you don't like what they said causes more off-topic clutter and doesn't actually solve the problem. We know what we're doing and we'll do something if it's legitimately bad.
    FOR THE CWC DISCUSSION BOARD:
    • Date Format: Please use MM/DD/YY when adding a date to updates. It’s the same format Chris and the Cwcki use, so it’s easier and less confusing for cross-referencing.
    • Include proper prefix: There’s a bunch of them, so please use one that fits the thread content.
      • FINANCHU CRISIS: Chris is selling stuff/e-begging and it deserves its own thread, tack this one on. Note: There is a general thread for e-begging here.
      • SONICHU: For when he actually gets his ass in gear long enough to toss out new pages. Also for Sonichu lore discussions, fan art and anything Sonichu-related.
      • PONIES: For when he comes up with a new OC or spends an inordinate amount of time mulling over the stamp he wants to put on the pony of his dead father’s ass.
      • TWITTER: For Twitter updates.
      • LGBTQ: When discussing his sexual identity issues.
      • YOUTUBE: YouTube videos*
      • META: General Chris discussions, or Club Community discussions
      • LEGAL: For his yearly arrests and inevitable continuations on his court dates.
      • RULES & MODERATION: Only used by Admin/Mod team when we’re fiddling with guidelines and such.
    • *Regarding YouTube Videos:
      • Be descriptive as possible in the thread title and body of the OP. A good guideline is to use the video title that Chris uses (for Cwcki cross-referencing purposes), but if the title is nonsensical, toss in a description in parentheses. Don’t just post a video with a snarky comment in the body of the OP; a couple sentences saying what the video contents are helps, especially if someone doesn’t/can’t watch the video.
      • Don’t post multiple videos in one OP unless they’re all parts of the same series. IE: if some ween pays Chris to read more crappy fanfic, edit the new videos into the original OP and add an update. (That said, don’t pay Chris to read shitty fanfics and don’t write shitty fanfics for Chris to read.)
    • Is Chris Getting Better:
      • No. No he is not.

"Don't be disgusting" is one of those things that shouldn't have to be an explicit rule.

I don't think it could fill a whole megathread
    Maybe a microthread.

I've added a new rule to the list.

I guess you say I post a lot of “reaction images” but I always put effort into them and they’re a way I tend to contribute to the discussion even if it’s just for levity; can I still do this?

I hope so. Reaction images can be funny.

This was tried on the Farms because they flared one of the mod’s autism sensitivity something severe. Let’s be better than that here. If someone likes something you don’t like, instead of creating tons of rules, just scroll. Let’s keep it light and fun

Like I said, they're not bad in and of themselves. As @Holdek said they can be really funny. You're actually a decent example of the dividing point. I took a look over your posts, and the ones where you tell a story through them are pretty good (for example, the one in the thread about Chris' drawings for sale possibly being Jessica or the one about worshipping Neptunia based on a text Chris made). The ones that are just a Youtube link, not so much.

It's all about showing actual brain cells went into your post. Literally anyone can post a Youtube link in 5 seconds or post a quick image you got off of a still, a crop, or a Google search to try and get a cheap laugh without actually contributing. Using said reaction to bolster a real post is good. Telling a story through editing or photoshopping in different posts for either clarity or to the effect of catching Chris in a lie or backpedaling is meaningful to the discussion and unique.

Post because you have something to say, not because you have to say something. We want there to be something to scroll to in the first place.

If you can shop something into a story (like @One Too Many ) or it’s a gif that adds to or emphasizes a statement you’re making, (ala @Holdek ’s Snoop gif,) that’s fun.

If all you have to say is a zoomed-in screen grab of something that was already posted and otherwise have nothing to contribute, then don’t. It’s low-effort and unfunny.
