NOTEBOOK SONICHU!!! THE SHITTY LINED PAPER FANCOMIC!!!

alright!!! finally attacking one of my 65749874 billion spur of the moment lined paper comic idea things. this one's about chris!!

see, lined paper's my thing. i might throw up a few 'somewhat clean and on printer paper and in color' things every now and then, but for the most part it'll be lined paper rough pages, in grayscale. admittedly with very shaky art (in my defense i have kondishunz and a microscopic attention span and i'm very scattered, lazy and impatient. and very easily distracted. winning combo)

i'm just gonna straight up sacrifice polished art and 'professionalism' in my cwc fancomic in favor of speed and ease.

side note, also getting refreshed on trickie and blanks' comics! they're great - but i'm a different person with a different way of doing things, so my way of making comics is different. i'm going to probably upload 8 pages at a time. seems to be on average 1.5mb.

i just looked them over and even though the markers were being disobedient and they look worse irl, they scanned better.

and yeah it's off to a really rough and shaky start, but i'll get better. i made loads of glaring errors that i caught, but oh well no point in fixing them, i'll just do better next time.

 

Not bad. So what's this about, exactly?

 

^ chris mostly. you'll see. that is, you should see if i keep my 5479436th promise to myself that i'd keep up with a project (i probably won't but let's play pretend i have some reliability). i have two series of this planned. 'a' is chris in my very poor concept of ruckersville ('notebook ruckersville' or 'rucky'), and you'll see the rest (hopefully). series 'b' will be based on cwcville. if i make a series b.

in other words i have no answer to 'what's this about'. it's about my favorite manchild.

the stories will be episodic, probably vary a lot in length and complexity. i'm trying to be spontaneous, which i'm not very good at so i'll practice that.

stories like 'chris goes fishing for reel at the mall', and 'chris decides to build a time machine', etc.

 

so i figured when i'm working on working on the comic thing, i'm keeping a dev book and stuff where i work out what i'm learning. i've always gotten horribly confused when drawing topics like complex machines, fences, masses of lines, horrible things like those. hands are also shaking again unfortunately, but i've worked a few things out and here are some drawings for what's coming up. including some background characters we'll be seeing soon.

I love the snow shovel part.

 

17 pages inked!! yeah i made loads and loads of spatial mistakes. next time i should really lay out a map before i draw up a place. i made all kinds of crazy errors. can you count them all? can you count that high?

also apparently i'm edgy now. (my drafts change wildly all the time, i swear. you never know what dumb thing will appear on the lined paper)

i'll bet i'm gonna get super confused and color things wrong when i get to that.

oh and i bet you could tell i've been having crazy manic/burnout cycles while working on this. never fails me.

better get back on the primary one. i put even less effort into these because these are my 'series c' - where i don't even bother to erase pencil (got special markers to use for here) and i scan it at 75 dpi. because i'm just really avoidant and easily distracted.

 

This is some good work, even if it is done in a notebook. Keep up the good work

The art style is pretty interesting. I wanna see where this goes.

 

Bob is the most sympathetic character in this whole thing. I love it.

EDIT: Sylvana---err, Sylvie's huge forced smile when she claims to be a fan of Sonichu is my favorite.
