There's a lot of info on what famous people of all history enjoyed reading, so this shouldn't be too hard.

One of my favorite books that I find ground me, and I give a copy to everyone whom I feel needs sorting in life is Marcus Aureluis Meditations. If you've not read it I highly suggest get it. It's part diary part philosophy and part rant.

So who famous loves it? James Mattis sleeps with a copy. If you don't know who Mad Dog is : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Mattis He's America's reincarnation of Sun Tzu, but more classy.

Now I could cheat as probably my all time favorite read is the Iliad and Alexander the great slept with a copy, hand written by Aristotle. The Cask Copy as it was known was lost, and once in theory asked worth, they would turn the keys of the MET over for it.

So what do you like to read that someone cooler than you also loves?

Trent Reznor loves Clive Barker, as evidenced by some of the lyrics to "Sin" coming from a Barker short story in the Books of Blood and "Help Me I Am In Hell" coming from Hellraiser II.

I actually listen to Sherlock Holmes audiobooks while I'm working on TRS, so I'm gonna count that as reading, just with the side headholes and not the eyeballs. I'm sure there are plenty of other famous Holmes fans, but unfortunately the fandom has been overwrought by Tumblr fuckwits and teeny tards moist for Benny Boy Cum-in-Snatch's cheekbones, so it's all a bit annoying.

Let's see... Lovecraft... no, overwrought with preening edgelords who write shitty self-insert creepypastas...

    .......uhm... well there's... no...

    ...

...nope. I got nothing. I hate reading, apparently.

I read Gibbon (Decline and Fall) to send myself to sleep every night, works wonders and I've still got four and a half volumes to go !
Pretty sure I've read of others who do this and I'm sure some of them are famous but buggered if I can remember who.
(Apologies to @Blank for pretty much copying your post)

I know Winston Churchill loved Gibbon and claimed he learned how to write and give speeches eloquently from reading these works.

Not sure if he read it at night to make himself sleepy, though.

    Awesome.
Churchill was a legend and I definitely consider him cooler than me, cheers for that.
