    Haha, I considered doing that but just stopped after making the first chapter because I figured it was iconic enough.

    I could have used the full fanfic madlib though once I started doing a rewrite starring my boyfriend's main D&D villain as Ebony.

    People want to believe it was real, but some of the cultural references make it pretty obvious it was troll writing it("accidently" calling Voldemint "Darth Valer", one of the characters having a poster with the "Goffick Beatles", and Goffick Marty McFly appearing with a black delorian, and numerous other small things)

    I do notice My Immortal has an "I am Spartacus" situation where people claiming to be the original author always show up every couple years or so. It has gotten to a point where you just don't know who is actually truly the author or not. It's insane.

    There is absolutely no way to verify since the original account got nuked. The real author is a permanent mystery at this point and anyone claiming to be her is making it up for attention.

    What if it was produced via the "bootstrap paradox" of time travel, so it somehow has no author?

    Like someone sent it back in time to the original uploader who didn't write it, yet uploaded it?

    If you look at the first few chapters compared to when things really start devolving, I think the account was hijacked after a few chapters. It's just believable enough as worse than usual fanfiction but not stinky enough to question it initially. It wasn't quite as sloppy until chapter 9, 10, or 11 depending on how little faith you have in humanity. By the time you start getting to the spelling errors being the best possible ones like:

    Snoop laughed meanly. He polled down his pants. I gasped- there was a Dork Mark on his you-know-wut!11!
    Vlodemort and Da Death Deelers!     (Badass band name, too)
    And my personal favorite, Snake and Loopin were in da middle of da empty hall, doin it, and Dobby was watching!

    Someone's taken the train off the rails and was going as hard as they could on it. I have no proof though, it's just internet legend now.
