    So back when I was growing up, my parents tried to do their best and hid away their rock albums from when they were growing up. Obviously this plan failed completely, but for the better part of my first decade of existence, I was brought up listening to the Lite FM radio stations and VH1 (this was back when they played mostly adult contemporary crap) and have grown a bizarre appreciation for this type of musical schlock, kind of the same way one may learn to appreciate the different flavors of glue.

    So today I propose for the sake of... I dunno, something to discuss, let's build a Lite FM Playlist.

    Rules:
    1) Has to be from and artist generally considered Light Rock/ Adult Contemporary.
    2) It CAN'T be a song you out and out despise, but rather a song you can at least tolerate.
    3) The cheesier the better.

    May the nightmares begin!

    Does it all have to be the Light Rock side of Adult Contemporary? Some of my favorite songs which are more in the country vein of the broader Adult Contemporary genre (and which charted on those or the Easy Listening charts) are commonly overlooked in this genre.

    If we're talking adult contemporary and cheesy music, Richard Cheese immediately comes to mind. How can you listen to something like this without smiling?

    I will fail at this because if Smashmouth is adult contemporary music now, I have no clue just what actually will count apparently. Also, this format went to shit around 1996 and hasn't really ever recovered since, tbh. I'll hope we can refrain from Never Gonna Give You Up getting posted either, but not thinking it's likely. Thanks to the helpful tags, I know where we can start however;










    I could do about five or six more that I liked when they were released but I don't want to hog up all the popular ones from everybody else, so I'll leave it there for now.
