I can't help but notice quite a bit of fans with usernames or profile pictures based off of it. I have never been a huge fan of anime, but this series really drew me in. No matter what or how evil a character is, it seems that you can't help but like them (unless it's Dio, fuck Dio). I really love how much Araki loves Western music, even going so far to name some things after songs and bands, such as Josuke's Stand Shining Diamond and Yoshikage Kira's Killer Queen. My favorite JoJo so far is Joseph Joestar.

Pretty much all of the characters are named after songs. Even Jojo comes from 'Get Back' by the Beatles. It's a very accessible show because of the western influence in the art style and writing, that's probably why it's so popular. Though it has some anime tropes it's really very unusual for a Japanese series.

Somebody drew a picture of Chris in JoJo style for the anime page on the wiki.

I didn't know JoJo's name was also a music reference! That's neat. And agreed completely. It's way different then the usual stuff I've seen put out and I think one of the things that I really liked about it is that there is no weird, overtly sexual themes that are constantly being shoved in your face. There's definitely questionable ones but they are very few and far between.
    I love this

It says Chris's stand is called Let Me Call You Sweetheart, too.

That's what often puts western audiences off anime. You see big titted schoolgirls and bishounen and you think 'jeez what kind of pervert bullshit is this?' Plenty of shows with good concepts are spoiled by overuse of fan service and shitty art. Jojo benefits from its art style, which is actually quite similar to that of anime from the 80s and 90s. Of course it's got massively homoerotic undertones, but otherwise there's little romance and thus little oppourtunity for weird sexual shit. It's just a goofy action show with little agenda, which is frankly a breath of fresh air in the current anime climate.

In all seriousness, I freaking love JoJo's Bizarre Adventure. I know and am ashamed that I'm denying myself the best experiences by not reading the manga, but I have easier access to the anime than I do the manga for the time being. Even so, from what I've heard, David Production has been doing very well with the adaptations, so I don't think I'm missing out too awful much.

In the meantime, I'll patiently wait for Part 5's announcement and the return of my favorite character.

    Speedwagon is forever my favourite.

Although, Part 7 is my favourite arc with it's western theme and how jam packed it is and all of it's memorable moments and characters.
    Also, Ringo Roadagain.

I read the manga a lot at work when I was unsupervised. We didn't have the bandwidth for streaming but I read that manga all day son.

I feel you dude, I also have no way to read the manga right now so I have to settle for what I can get. I didn't realize Polnareff will make a return? Omg. Either way, rumor has it that part 5 is showing up in Spring but I'm not entirely sure how true that rumor is.

Joseph is best Jo and there is no point in arguing with a well known fact.

I dunno if you could tell but I really like jjba. I really appreciate seeing how Western stuff is viewed through an Eastern lens (and how Crunchyroll desperately tries to not provoke the ire of anyone with the "translations" of things). Araki has a book about various horror movies he loves and his critical analysis of them. You can really see those influences (the whole supernatural/mysticism elements of PB and BT, the whole Yukkako thing, any villain really) and I'd love to get my hands on the book but I don't think it has an official translation.
DIU anime was great I loved the color pallets and just the #aesthetic of it. I can't believe they got away with the whole Pepsi thing.
Also I'm gay so jjba is pretty

I tried watching this show a few years ago and I couldn't get into it. One episode in and all I wanted to see was Dio and the old man teaching the two of them pounded to death with extreme prejudice, and I knew that if this happened it wasn't going to happen soon enough.

For manga readers, I got a question: Is it possible for Vento Aureo's adaptation to top this?
