Instruments

Do you guys play any instruments? Any of you in a band? I myself am learning bass guitar right now.

 

I've been playing the trumpet for about a year now. I'm not super good, but I've improved a lot. I used to play back in 5th grade band, but only practiced sporatically after that before having to drop it entirely. I'll have you know though, that I was the best trumpet player in our two-person section!

 

I haven't played in a while but - tenor banjo, mandolin, ukulele, accordion and fiddle. I also have various novelty instruments, like a musical saw.

I am an amateur. That's about all I can tell you as to skill.

 

I play piano and cello to a high standard. used to play the trumpet too, but i'm so out of practice that it'd be depressing to watch me attempt it now.

 

I play trombone and took violin lessons a few years ago. I'd like to start relearning it.

I'd also like to learn piano and guitar too.

 

Guitar, bass, drums, and sax. No bands outside of school, played multi tenors on the drum line. I mainly play just for my own enjoyment, and it's a great way to clear my head, like meditation. Music is how I deal with stress and it works wonders.

 

I started playing the guitar last week and have no idea what I'm doing but hopefully I start to figure things out! I'm planning on taking a class to learn. My college doesn't have beginning trumpet classes which is what I'd really like to get better at, but knowing how to play the guitar as well would be fun. If I learn more about reading music and the technical aspects of one instrument I may be able to apply that knowledge to another.

 

I took lessons on how to play drums and taught myself how to play piano. Because of my knowledge of piano, that eased me into guitar, trumpet, and mandolin. Seriously, everyone should learn how to play piano. It really does make other instruments easier.

However, the one I actually utilized the most was singing. When I was at junior college I paid for most of my schooling with choir/professional ensemble scholarships.
