I don't watch a lot of TV since I spend more time on the internet but while I don't watch much TV, there are shows like Forensic Files that hold my interest. What shows do you guys enjoy that are related to real life crime and forensics?

Snapped is a pretty nice show.

There's some episodes of it on YouTube, but copyright's a dick.

I tend to catch these kinds of shows at random, but I think I've seen reruns of some of Cold Case Files--unfortunately couldn't tell you what they were of, however, so I don't have recommended episodes/channels to link to. And does Secrets of the Dead count? I'm thinking "not really", but just name-dropping it.

So there was an absolutely epic episode of Forensic Files I remember seeing.

There are no word to adequately describes this episode. The only thing that comes to mind is a quote by one of the officers, "If this was made into a book it wouldn't sell because no one would believe the story." Basically it's a case of severe autism that leads to arson and murder.

That just sounds like garden variety autism to me.

No, this isn't standard autism, this is a cop framing someone for a crime he committed then murdering him to frame someone who doesn't exist so he can become a professional bowler.

I like that Homicide Hunter show with Joe Kenda. Also like Dark Matters of science, but with a caveat: I don't like how they often try to appeal to conspiritards for views due to the channel it's on. The last one I remember watching and liking would have to be Dr. G: Medical Examiner, since she did autopsies to figure out how a person died.

I do love me some crime and forensice shows:

    Dr. G Medical Examiner
Forensic Files (although I've already watched most of them)
    How It Really Happened
    Snapped
Unsolved Mysteries (the original's opening theme was nightmare fuel when I was a kid)

    Also do the following count?

    1000 Ways to Die
Sex Sent Me to the ER
    Strange Stories from the ER

I almost forgot about that show. Shame they didn't reboot it with something like "1,000 More Ways To Die." I found it entertaining to see people win The Darwin Award in creative ways.

The once episode that stands out to me is when a guy tried to give himself liposuction with the help a friend, except they used a shop vac and wound up sucking out the guy's intestines.

I love 1,000 Ways to Die, I just didn't include it since it didn't really match the theme outside of death. My favorite... hmm, would probably be the one where the minister of a mega church got electrocuted in the baptismal font, or whenever they did traditional death methods like the bronze bull or scavenger's daughter.

It's all watchable still on Spike's website, one of the best things they ever did tbh.

I remember that one! Also, no discussion of 1000 Ways to Die is complete without this one.

lol I have no idea how I forgot about that one. Wasn't there also one where a guy went skydiving but forgot his parachute?

Shows like Forensic Files make me lowkey paranoid my significant other is going to murder me for insurance money. I love putting them on in the background while I'm working, though.

Also lol that furry one. I was mildly disappointed it wasn't some furry beat down, but I guess it was close enough.
