Remember when some of the early Sonichu comics called themselves "free samples"?

Longest free trial ever.

But that makes me wonder. Will the CWCki host any of the Patreon-only pages once it gets leaked? Or will that be too weenish?

 

It depends:
If Chris emphatically declares "DON'T YOU DARE TRY AND LEAK THESE PAGES, YOU DAMN TROLLS!", you just know someone will attempt it.

 

I also just noticed that his Facebook post said "before it's fully completed". So, I actually think it means that it'll just be a sneak peak.
And that actually makes some sense. A lot of artists on Patreon make early sneak peaks (either incomplete or completed, but not yet uploaded for free) a perk.

 

Good point. I just have doubts on if anyone would think that leaking the pages would be too weenish. But, noting that most of the community thinks that everyone who donates to him is a ween...

 

I don't think sharing Chris related content is weenish at all. Its not doing something to make Chris mad, its doing something so we can laugh at him.

 

I'm actually a bit surprised that he's offering the free samples at a 'mere' $10 a month. When moldy old shirts are worth $10k and moldy old boxes of porn $1k, it's hard to determine worth to CWC.

 

Well, my point was that since Chris is now SELLING it, some people might think that it's weenish to basically pirate it.

But, that was just some doubts that I had.

Well, at least with the shirt, Chris was piggybacking off of his infamy online. Also remember that the Sonic Totem sold for $1,500.

 

I would agree BUT the comics he's selling are an amalgamation (bastardization) of characters he doesn't own. So a little weenish but fair game I think.

 

So Chris is finally monetizing Sonichu.

It only took him 17 years.

 

Just a weird random thought I had. Remember how the Gizmondo launched with a ridiculous price that nobody would pay, so they lowered the price by $100 with the catch being that you had to sit through ads (or something) when you booted up the system (or something, I just know there were ads involved), with the funny thing being that they didn't ever implement the ads.

I wonder if Chris will make some kind of similar folly. Like, if he's not making enough money he'll somehow lower the tiers or something and offer more perks, with the catch being something like there being paid 'advertisements' (like, say, a noise musician promoting his work with a Chris commission, or an artist on Deviantart having a picture of Sonichu included in the comic) in the comic that Chris forgets to place in the comic.

 

Somehow Christine has monetized the same pages twice but been an idiot with both of the monies.

 

This debate sets off my autism. I'm half tempted to call a lawyer and ask him what if any copywrite and trade marks are violated with sonichu.
