    Anyone likes Disney comics?

    I am not really talking about just any comics that has been published by Disney (heck, you could say all Marvel comics count since they got bought by the big mouse)...

    I am more specifically talking about comics starring the classic Disney animation characters: with Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy, and the rest.

    Maybe these are no longer fashionable in North America. But in Europe and other places like Brazil, they remain a respectable and commonplace comic form.

    The great American classics:
    Floyd Gottfredson and his Mickey Mouse adventure epics!
    Carl Barks who created Scrooge McDuck!
    Don Rosa who explored his youth and how he got rich!

    And many other artists, such as many, many Italians who produce so many kinds of stories, like Donald as a Batman-like superhero, Mickey as a hardboiled film noir detective, Goofy as a fantasy wizard warrior, parodies of book/movie classics such as Fahrenheit 451 or The Divine Comedy...

    I haven't had a chance to read it since the books go for over a hundred dollars on amazon, but I know that one of the Scrooge McDuck comics inspired one of my favorite music albums.

    Someone on /co/ has been storytiming IDW's official English translation of PK/Duck Avenger and, wow, I didn't think I'd ever see Donald Duck in a story that hardcore (for one of the main Disney characters, anyways). Seems pretty interesting, though. Hopefully it'll continue long enough so the whole first series gets translated.

    European Disney comics tend to be the best out there. This just got released a while back, highly recommended!
