Meta Chris and Reality

With apologies to ToroidalBoat, I think there is a compelling case for having a dedicated thread for discussing how Chris perceives reality (aka Chris and Reality). In fact, how Chris perceives reality (or the lack of thereof) is mainly why I became interested in Chris, a la Harry Partridge and Dodie.

Although it is not unusual to have an imaginary friend a la Nadine from Arthur, Chris pushes that concept to the limits. From what I know so far, Chris believes that:

• CWCville and his characters are real;
• He had the power to curse anyone;
• Anything bad that has happened to him was a conspiracy.

From what I also know so far, Chris’s grip on reality has continued to weaken, with his belief that the Dimensional Merge would happen, and that the alleged merge would make him rich and bring his fictional characters to life.

Recently, a video that got lost in previous discussions on the Kiwi Farms resurfaced and finally made its way into the CWCki:

According to The American Hedgehog (KF) and ToroidalBoat (CWCki Club), both on 27 June 2019, Chris appears to be dancing with Magi-Chan from the 1 hour 33 minute mark.

I think someone with a bit more time on their hands might need to pick a good frame from that video and Photoshop Magi-Chan for the CWCki, in a similar way to how his characters appear (at the beginning) in the fan-made version of Christian Weston Chandler's Adult Chronicles.

I thought I would start a dedicated thread on Chris's perception of reality, because that gives Chris the unique character that astonishes us to this day.

 

I agree on that especially since the Sonichu comic seems to have been put on the back burner no thank to his laziness and now at least in my opinion Chris' delusional behavior and mindset have drawn more interest

 

Chris has always had an, um, interesting point of view on reality. I'm not sure how much of it is because of his childish view of the world and how much is due to his mental illnesses. He has a bleak life with the only high points being impulse buying, his imagination, and vidya and cartoons. I don't know if his odd views of reality are part of a defense mechanism to insulate him from the harshness of his life or not. He's in a weird position in life - he's childish and disabled enough that he legitimately can't function like a normal adult, but he's not too disabled that he needs a group home or people to hold his hand through everything normal adults do.

I thought cartoons and comics were real when I was a little kid, but of course like almost all kids I grew out of that. I assume Chris has never matured mentally and emotionally enough to realize what is fantasy and what actually exists.

 

I think it's like @Marvin said on KF: Chris "wants to believe." That is, CWC is well aware of the "limits and shit" of reality, but he's trying to convince himself cartoons are real. The "multiverse theory" of quantum physics -- as interpreted through pop culture -- was used to fuel that belief due to Chris' magical thinking and confirmation bias. Then again, who knows how far CWC is gone now...

 

The author of the video replied. It seems that there is a solution: someone could youtube-dl the video, trim it to the most relevant part and upload it.
