Bob Ross was a television painter with a painting series lasting from 1983 to 1994 on PBS who specialized on oil paint-based landscapes. He is best known for his giant afro and his relaxed and happy personality.

    God speed, Bob.

What's funny is that his personality, along with his painting skills, stemmed from his twenty years in the Air Force. I just like to remind people of that because it's a neat story.

He died July 4, 1995, which was my 10th birthday - that sucks.

I liked how he promised he'd never scream again after he got out of the military.

I also liked how excited he got every time he beat his brush, LOL

It's always funny comparing Bob to his teacher Bill Alexander.
While he's mostly forgotten now, Bill Alexander was an excitable Prussian dude who apparently taught US GIs how to paint while he was a POW during WWII. He was originally known more for his insane tirades than his actual painting, however after Bob Ross started selling his own paint kits instead of just pointing people to Bill's he lost it, famously screaming "I taught him everything! Everything he does is Bill Alexander! And he BETRAY ME!" during one episode. After that he started trying to copy Bob Ross' personality, going so far as to call himself "The ORIGINAL Happy Painter" (from what I can tell, all the uploads on his official YouTube channel are from this period).

There's also a lot of argument about who created the wet on wet techniques Ross was famous for (note he didn't invent wet on wet himself that goes back centuries, but he expanded on it, or ripped off from Bill Alexander depending on who you believe in that he said she said story).

Also, I know auto-tuned remixes aren't particularly novel, but this is so damned catchy.

this guy enjoys painting even if he sounds constipated at times or even sounds like he is in absolute pain
