I own Scarecrow , The Entertainment Earth exclusive version of the Joker (where he's holding the laughing fish), and The Phantasm.

I am considering getting "The Dark Knight" minibust[IMG]

...and maybe Harley and Poison Ivy. I also hope they will do Mr. Freeze and Clayface this year.

Outside of the busts, the only other collectible of BTAS I own is a statue made by Kotobukiya

..Yeah, like I said, I'm a bit of a batman freak

Scarecrow looks great, I'll probably get him eventually. I really like Phantasm but I just can't get over that gray "forehead". Maybe if it goes on sale though. Plus the DC Collectibles one is already fantastic.

Clayface would be cool. I'd like to see Croc or Mad Hatter.

And yeah, that Batman statue looks amazing.

Fiance and I needed a new series to try out, we remembered this existed, and we had just finished playing the Arkham games. I'm in the boat that only faggots call every cartoon they like 'mature' or 'dark' so they don't admit it's for kids but BTAS actually is more enjoyable for me now that I'm an adult while still being a fun cartoon.

Some episodes punch you right in the feels because you're not expecting them to go so far in characters discussing bereavement and death and loneliness. But it handles all of this in a way without being edgy or forced.

"Does the hurt ever go away?"

"I wish I could say yes."

    Jfc.

Anyway, we're at season 4 now... or "the NEW Animated Series" or whatever it's called. I've never been a Harley Quinn fan and this is the only version I am actually happy to see and find funny. I like seeing the 'redemption' episodes each villain gets when they attempt to fit themselves properly into society and start a new life. It shows you why they are the way they are, or that even if they're sympathetic, there's a reason they're a villain and they deserve what's coming to them. It's not black and white but it's not any of that "there are no real villains" bullshit you hear about in new cartoons/series.

I will probably be grabbing half a dozen of those mini-busts throughout the year. Diamond Select makes really good Transformers busts and I like the style of them.

This is a cartoon classic no doubt. If only they allow this kind of creativity back.

Yeah most of the busts are really good. I recommend searching online for deals on them though. No sense paying more for them if you don't have to.

The figure line looks really cool , like I am really tempted to get the new deluxe Clayface

    I mean look at that.

The only thing I'm uncertain of is how well these figures actually stand.. (I mean literally stand). Due to the nature of Bruce Timm's designs, almost EVERY character is, shall we say, top-heavy. I don't own any yet, so I don't know if them staying in a standing position is an issue. I haven't found anyone making those complaints currently though

Only Batman himself and Phantasm fall over in my experience. I guess Ventriloquist as well but to be fair he has to hold a dummy. No real problems with anyone else though. Even Man-Bat is fine with his outstretched wings.

    Clayface is the best.

Oh for sure. I just ordered him and Scarecrow. As he is my favorite Batman villain and must own every incarnation of him

Damn, I was always eager to find an episode of this cartoon when I was a kid... I thought it was so cool and badass. This was one of the few cartoons I wasn't embarrassed to be seen watching by my family.

I bought an original cartridge of the SNES game based on this animated series: The Adventures of Batman and Robin.

Played it... and I am quite surprised at the difficulty!! The fight with Joker in the first stage is already a huge challenge!! Even knowing just how to give him damage is not self-explanatory!!

But still, the game looks beautiful and is quite enjoyable.

Are you going to touch up Scarecrow's face to make it all shadowy like in the show or leave it alone?

Making him look like his "hanged man" redesign in the last season??

Yeah they only released the redesign so far. I just meant that his face is left normal and the shadows or whatever aren't painted on. I've seen some customs that had them painted on though and it definitely improves it.[IMG] [IMG]

I am guessing they won't bother making a resin version of his very first "bulbhead" appearance from his debut episode Nothing To Fear?

I am not much of a fan of the "hanged man" version... or most of the last season redesigns, for that matter.

I don't mind it, and a few others are ok, but I agree for the most part. The redesigns in general, both the designs and the actual episodes, feel soulless to me.

Still looks really good. I don't know if I'm skilled enough for that kind of customization. Most of my painting skills come from Gundam models.

Do you recommend any other figures? Like any other ones that stand out as being particularly good? (bearing in mind I ordered Clayface and Scarecrow)

very unlikely. I think it would be optimistic to hope for them to release an action figure of that version of Scarecrow .

Most of the redesigns I don't really get the point of because they were hardly any different or felt a little less detailed. I think the Scarecrow's hanged man version is the only one I actually like because it spooks me out. Everyone else felt way too simple or like it lost the point of the older designs' details. Clayface looked more like the Thing, Croc was just an orc, Penguin lost the parts of him that made him so freakish to other people, Ivy and Cat Woman looked like drowned corpses with their skin color (only when wearing their costumes, though...? Without the costumes their skin went back to normal).

On the subject of villains, who're your guys' favorites in the show? I was surprised that one of mine was Clayface because I'd never known or cared much about him in any other adaptations since he was never used much but his story was the perfect twist of a sympathetic asshole and it felt really unique. Two-Face for the same reason. The Penguin and Baby Doll I felt had more potential but weren't used as much.

Despite Scarecrow being my favorite Batman villain, I would have to also go with Clayface. I really like how they gave him a much more sympathetic angle. Also, he's voiced by my favorite actor, Ron Perlman. That probably gave him quite a few more points over Mark Hamill's Joker

I love those figures. I have the Catwoman one.

Isis was awesome. I remember when I was little I tried to train my cat Fluffy to ride on my shoulder like Isis. It didn't work out so well :/

Two-Face, Clayface, Mad Hatter, Riddler, and Clock King. But my most favorite will always be Croc.

Ok, get ready. I'm not gonna list any redesign ones unless you're curious about any of them though.

    In no particular order:

    Amazing:
    Commissioner Gordon -- The GOAT
Phantasm -- Looks great, only problem is that she falls over sometimes.
Mad Hatter -- One of my favorites.
    Clayface -- Terrific
    Batmobile -- Nice car

    Great/Above Average:
Man-Bat -- Very imposing and stands well. Might have sloppy paint though, like the other early figures, so be careful.
Riddler -- Looks great, only problem is he can't hold his cane normally.
Bullock -- Only real problem is they went too heavy on the eye shadow or whatever, but he's still great.
Ventriloquist -- Almost perfect. Scarface is beautiful but I wish he could hold his gun better. Top heavy too, but he's one of my favorites regardless.
Catwoman -- Make sure you get a good one. Some have dumb looking eyes and the first release (with the visible hip pegs) is prone to breakage. They re-released her with better quality and usually better paint though.
Ra's al Ghul -- I typically hate him as a character but I can't deny that they did a good job.
Penguin -- I like him. The more realistic monocle might be a turn-off though.
    Robin -- He's fine.

    Disappointing:
Batman (the Phantasm two-pack one) -- Can't really stand well and isn't very poseable. Not awful but there are high expectations behind him.
Harley Quinn -- Honestly terrible. I replaced it with the TNBA one instead. At least that one's legs are both the same length.
Joker -- Head sculpt is pretty crappy. Just very unremarkable, and like Batman he's someone who should be better.

Don't have Zatanna, Talia, or Christmas Joker.

Speaking of Clayface... The "Growing Pains" episode was quite dark.

When I was a kid, I missed that episode on TV but a sibling saw it while I wasn't there and gave me a basic description... it wouldn't be more than 15 years later until I would finally see it.

    Annie.jpg
And it looked even more "anime-ish" than usual, almost foreshadowing those 2000s DC cartoons like Teen Titans and The Batman...

Awesome. Thanks! I definitely want to get Man-Bat and Mad Hatter. Disappointing to hear that Joker is bad though. Although his head sculpt looks better than the resin busts. I may get him, if I can find him for a decent price. Definitely will go for the newer Harley.

I am curious about your opinions on the redesigns as well. I have to say, I am a little disappointed they went with the redesign of Mr. Freeze.. But I still may consider him if he's a good figure. Hopefully they will do a figure or a minibust of the classic animated Mr. Freeze
