Well, one of the best ways to repair a lost relationship is by giving someone money. It kind of seems like Chris is making an excuse to give Cole 'his' money in exchange for his banking information, or his address, by selling 'his' stuff. I think that in Chris's mind Cole will either talk to him to accept the money, or talk to him to tell him to stop selling his prized collection of comic books. Both reasons would explain why he's promoting this stuff with Cole's name.

In all seriousness, the comic collection actually looks kind of small. If those are all of the comics, it kind of looks like Cole went through the standard comic book phase for a brief period, collected whatever was available to him, and then gave up comics. As some people say, it looks more like an accumulation than a collection.

Not bagged/boarded and in a cardboard box. Not bad condition from the looks of it considering they’re from the 70s and were absorbed into the hoard. Chris should really just sell them as a lot.

IF that’s the case, that’s waaayyy too cunning for Chris to come up with.
Barb on the other hand, I don’t know. She may be offering Cole’s half of the money for his address and banking information, but that means
1.) Either Barb wrongfully believes she’s the most cunning person alive or Cole is naive enough to give up all that information in exchange for....$200?.
2.) Barb is shitty enough to steal from her own son.
3.) With Cole’s address, Barb can threaten to kick Chris out more by telling him he can “Go live with Cole, here’s the address.”

I like that the super snobby Cole Smithy was once a kid who loved comic books. You know there's a part of him deep down that wants to see all the Marvel comics movies.

Jesus Christ, Barb has never looked worse.
Interested to see what other "crap" Cole left behind that Chris thinks is worth money

I watched the clip again. When Borb starts smiling, it looks like she is staring to have a stroke.

she's been like that for some time now. The delayed way she speaks, the way she looks like she just got out of bed every time we see her... she looks like that old dog that's completely given up and wants to die. look at the C-Log 04142017 video. her hair's grayed a bit but she acts exactly the same.

Also: While I'm glad chris is trying to sell part of the hoard, of course he's not going to sell barb's stuff or his own. And let's face it, half of whatever chris gets from this sale isn't going to patch things up with Cole.

So, I'm not really that big into comics. Can somebody tell me if Cole's taste in comics is as bad as his movie tastes?

Eh. it seems really standard for the era. What you'd get off the shelves in the 70s.

I never see my collection like that, despite being of books I bought, along with my brother's stash he gave me, and ones from my late uncle. I just end up with 'em.

I bet it is. Silver Age are all that's worth it out there. Nothing beyond it. My collection's kind of a mix between the 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's.

I get the impression Chris has never even one laid his soiled fingers on any of these. Which is rather sad, really in retrospect, if something in these issues would've caught his attention to what makes a comic book work. I'm sure just the covers alone bored him. Sgt. Rock would've at least gave him a reason to grow balls!

    Ewwww!

Shame there's no John Stanley Lulu's in there! Chris might've learned something about sarcasm that way.

Even if the 'source material' it came from had better comics made about of 'em.

    God, I hate video games!

That's probably what happened, since I'm sure they're in no way gonna box that up and ship it off UPS or whatever service in town.

Shouldn't have even bothered selling it to begin with. Chris is better off carting it privately to a comic shop and seeing what value he might get that way.

He did. I got three boxes more than this! He didn't fall into the Archie trap though.

That Boy Scout certificate is an interesting relic if anything else of Cole's boyhood days are stuck in the hoard.

This was fairly mainstream stuff you could find at drug stores.

You guys do realise that Barb is putting on an act, right? You should expect it from a manipulative bitch like her.

That Ode to Patty sequence was as about as close as Chris ever got to conventional narrative, it's also one of the only actual touching parts of the thing I've ever sampled, so take that for what you will I guess?

I got the sense these were recovered from the 'Dreaming Factory' in the garden but I'm sure wherever they were they were largely condition ravaged like the rest of the pile of junk there.

An interesting thing about art is that there's always an anti-art (or incorrect art) which some say is equally as valid. For instance, there's a semi-popular indie genre called anti-folk, and a genre of music called Outsider Music, which is referred to by intellectuals as Incorrect Music. Picasso during a weird phase once started creating weird child-like paintings because he believed that since he was so proficient at creating 'good' art, it would require more skill to create 'bad' art.

What I'm saying is that claiming that Sonichu is anti-art actually gives it some merit.

I'm guessing there were probably in the shed, otherwise they would be a lot more damaged.
