His appraisal is going well. He's found that he could make a profit with a fraction of the binder pages.
Lotta work going through and appraising then listing then shipping if they sell. Maybe the attention was worth $500.
Cabal has been banned from posting on KF and he’s being called a ween and ridiculed for the crime of buying cards. If this Pokémon card fiasco has taught us anything, it’s that some people are gonna reee at the idea of Chris getting money at all. Here’s Cabal’s latest update: https://cabalc.wordpress.com/2018/02/16/chris-chans-pokemon-collection-profit-potential-page-17/ He’s on page 17 and is already looking at a profit of about $150 dollars. The pages are averaging 38.79 dollars each and there are 53 pages. If this trend continues he’ll make 2055.87 dollars, almost 4x what he paid for. This will most likely be a smart business move. What we need to keep in mind is that this literally Cabal’s job, as I’ve said before people like him buy binders for a handsome lump sum and sell it piecemeal to a community that actually exists, Pokémon card collectors are a thing. He didn’t just buy it because Chris touched it, he bought it to make money. Buying binders is part of his actual job. People are still mad. This guy isn’t paying into Chris’s Pateron, and he isn’t paying Chris to do nothing. Chris sold something of value (which is pretty amazing. Chris is a manchild and a hoarder and he managed to part with something that meant a lot to him.) and he bought it, because that’s part of his job. At the end of the day, people who are mad at Cabal are just A-logs who hate the idea Chris got money and they didn’t.
I think people are more annoyed that he posted on KF in the first place and makes these updates talking about how much profit potential these cards have, also the unboxing videos, posting them on his website and stuff like that. In the unboxing video he mentioned a number of times about how he's gonna make money off of the cards and all those people on KF saying he won't and calling him a ween are just idiots who don't know anything about the collectible card market. Really, if he wants to sell Chris-Chan's cards on Ebay and make a tidy profit, cool, good for him. I was dubious at first, but if this works out for him then good for him. But, if he wants to draw attention to himself and seek some asspats for being able to profit off of Chris-Chan's cards, then he deserves to be called a ween for it. I mean, he made a post bragging about how he discovered a piece of Christory (those memory cards), basically saying "Hey! I found a cool Christorical artifact, you guys jealous?"
Cabal Coffers, for those unaware, is an old school collectable Magic card name (that to this day I'd run if I still had cards and my mono-black deck to use it in). Its play mechanic is to use a little bit of any type of energy a player can access to potentially generate a lot more of a specific kind of (ostensibly evil) energy when it's in play so I appreciate the apt reference this guy is using. It's sad to see so many against classic capitalism, one man's hoarded trash being turned into many others' treasures while rewarding the one who took the most risk to provide the capital for the job the greatest out of all.
I tallied up approximately all the sales I could find reported on the various sites he uses (well, in my head at least). Apparently, from about 50 sales he made just a bit under $550 last month. So, it seems like he sells Pokemon cards for about $1-$5 each (with some exceptions), and other assorted collectibles for a bit more (around $20-$50). I don't know how much he's paying for this stuff, but it's a good thing he has a job other than this, because what I'm seeing doesn't seem like enough to live off of. Though, I definitively wouldn't mind having a few hundred dollars extra each month.
My man as long as they're not actually negative ratings then they a-okay. Were they negative though then hopefully he would've messaged Dynastia and asked him to stop.
Would you have preferred that he didn't post it? I don't understand the mentality behind this statement
How was he bragging? He went through the trouble of uploading scans of those cards just so people can see. cabalcoffers is super chill about the hate against him. Like, the mods decided to post his dox for some reason and he didn't even give a shit.
https://cabalc.wordpress.com/2018/02/17/chris-chans-pokemon-collection-profit-potential-page-26/ About halfway done and he’s almost at double what he paid for. Honestly, this is the best fate for the binder, had Chris tried to sell it piecemeal, he’d probably list it at double the average price because it belonged to legendary CWC.
NEVER FORGET! So really, a smartass (in a positive way). I'm sure we all would if we knew what we were doing. And that's the worst we could expect from Chris.
