Meta When and how did you first learn about CWC and "Sonichu"?

I had heard a tiny bit about Chris Chan from lurking on 2edgy4meChan, but never investigated any further.

......It was Fall of 2015. I was looking up fanfiction as bad as My Immortal. Sonichu had come up. After the first issue, I saw the name Chris Chan Sonichu (I hadn't put together that Chris Chan was short for Christian Weston Chandler). I realized this was THE Chris Chan. I searched on YouTube for Chris Chan, and the Sachumo documentary popped up.

.......I knew my life would never be the same.

 

Far from lame and obvious. That is exactly why I ended up becoming fascinated with Sonichu from 2019 to 2021. My interest sadly dried up due to the recent incidents: the current situation in the world of Sonichu has sadly become very grim because of the recent incidents, with a very uncertain future.

 

No shame at all. That is a damn good series. I fanboyed a little when he voiced Cole in TheGamerFromMars's documentary.

 

Yeah, it's a great series (some of the other topics covered include DSP, Wings, TempleOS, the Final Fantasy House, Time Cube, as well as some historical stuff).
I would say its success had a large part in the rise of long-form documentaries on YouTube. (The first few were only 20 minutes but most recently they went up to 2 hours, and now EVERYONE is making multi-hour documentaries about some topic or other.)

 

At the risk of getting off-topic, wasn't FF House fucking wild? How does someone join a Tumblrina cult and blame it on "alcohol and freshman idiocy"?

 

I will forever wish that the Sarah Saga had been able to reach its proper conclusion.

 

Can you imagine if Chris passed away from ingesting poison or from getting trapped in the crawlspace?

Sarah would've been the first and last troll and A-Log. There'd be no "Bionic", no "BEST BIRTHDAY EVER", no "Sonichu", no "Love Quest", no certain drawing in a "Crumple-Lope", no "Classic Chris", no "Tomgirl", no Snyder incident, no "DON'T CALL ANYBODY", no "Idea Guys", no "healing" Barb, and no "Jail of Fail".

Also there'd also be no CWCki or CWCki Club.

I can't have been the only one reminded of it when I heard about some of the stuff Janky (that's what I call her) got up to.

damn, good question. i've directly heard about chris chan though oney plays, or at least the snippits i've seen of them (im not a oney plays fan, its not them, its me) and i hear them making cracks at "chris chan" idk who he was, but i was very curious. again and again i would hear about chris chan and would still have no idea who he was. i've been on deviant art and seen fanart n' pictures of sonichu, and being around those parts are probably my first chris chan exposure. (this sonichu picture) was what i saw.

tldr; i hear about sonichu as just "lol cringe sonic oc lmao" and then i started hearing about chris chan sparingly

i caved in one day (very very recently actually) and decided to watch a video about who chris chan is

each video was around 40 minutes.... there were 62 videos and counting... holy shit (video link to the playlist)

Back around the time Chris made the video of recycling with orange Fanta. I only knew about it because back then on an old Youtube account, I followed a ranter who ranted about things like feminazis, Jack Thompson, and PETA. Said ranter made a video where he saw the recycling video and regretted it but I didn't even get what the dude was saying and for whatever reason, I thought CWC would of been like Perez Hilton in being like some kind of annoying person you'd hear about on the internet. It wasn't until two or three years later I'd learn properly about Chris-Chan and Sonichu, first through Linkara when he briefly mentioned CWC and Sonichu, all before Linkara's porn art and RP accounts were known to the internet.

 

Around 2008-2009 when I browsed TV Tropes webcomics section for "So Bad It's Horrible" works, because I wanted to mock some shitty webcomics. When I actually read Sonichu, I'd inadvertently fell down the insane rabbit hole that was Chris Chan.
Which means that, yes, I got to witness a good chunk of the Classic Chris sagas (Liquid, Kacey, Cwcipedia, Surfshack Tito, Asperchu, and of course, the omnipresent Clyde Cash) while they were still happening. It was a surreal experience, and I was determined to see where this whole train wreck would end. Just wished it didn't end in such a disgusting way.

 

That was the same time I heard about Chris only I was lucky to not be corrupted further until Linkara mentioned the guy and I looked at it around 2010. One can say what they want on whether Chris deserved to be trolled or how the trolls were the real monsters and Chris is an innocent soul before the whole incest shit(hint: people should at least realize there's more to Chris' character than just being a lolcow, trolling target, and trans or not autistic individual) but if anything it was the most interesting trainwreck the internet managed to give out around the turn of the decade and the few years that came before and after 2010.

 

I remember hearing about Sonichu in 2008, but I sort of went "eh" and didn't think much else about it

Then in late 2009-early 2010, I came across his videos and I was like "holy shit"

I know this sounds lame, but due to how the Cwcki was written, I actually thought the trolls were real actual people because I am retarded

 

At first I thought Matthew really was Kacey's father.

 

Wasn't he also played by Alec?
