I bet they do give Chris some rather lightweight labor compared to what the other prisoners will have to suffer through. Can we place our bets as to when Chris will piss off another prisoner by comparing his work to their much harder work?

I'm not sure how that and the fact Chris has been on disability for over 15 years would affect his ability to get a job in prison

a guy with an IQ of 63 gets taken advantage of all the time by the other prisoners and believes whatever they tell him
that would definitely happen to Chris if he was in the general population
it also sounds like if you don't sign up for a prison job in Virginia you forfeit your right to be let out early for good behavior
Virginia also relies on the prisoners to disclose any disabilities - that won't be a problem for Chris because he used to tell everyone he's autistic

 

It seems a number have possibly fetishy fantasies of Chris "meeting Bubba" or "dropping the soap" in prison.

But like you say, it's likely he'd be in protective custody.

 

chris is not in prison, he is in jail.

Prisons have more funding than local jails and therefore have more facilities and resources. Where chris is now is a holding facility until the courts decide if he is innocent or guilty.

At this point chris is basically getting his basic needs met, and I do mean basic. The facility is a local one, meaning it receives it's funding from local tax revenue, very little state or federal funding gets to a facility of that level.

Most work at a jail is for people that are there to serve a short sentence (11 months and 29 days or less) chris is basically either in his cell, in some sort of common area, or moving to and from appointments and getting food.

If (cough) when he gets to prison then work details, more privileges, and better resources will be available to him. Until then he gets to be chris around people who give no fucks and the staff.

Chris cosigned the mortgage (with a sketchy finance company that buys bad mortgages) so yes, if Barb is no longer living there and the finance company hasn't seized and sold the property, Chris could live there. For now it seems that the most likely fate for 14 BLC is that the finance company seizes and sells the house when Chris and Barb inevitably fall behind on payments.

It seems like in Virginia prisoners sign up for jobs in prison, so Chris could have some choice as to what job he does if he's sentenced to prison. "The jerk prisoners take all the good jobs leaving none for me!"
Chris will also likely go through an offender reentry program and be responsible for housing when his sentence ends.

it might have more because it was expanded since it was built in the early 90s
