Question: So like, what is your position on what the future of that place should be?

My Answer Honestly I don't know. If I had my way there I would massively de-emphasise it but obviously I'm not in a place to do anything about it.

I don't really post here much anymore so I'm not expecting anyone to take me seriously. Plus If the disco user base wants to continue watching Chris deteriorate that's fine. Its their prerogative. What's bugging me personally about what Wise and co did to Chris is how structurally similar it was to all the classic trolling. It was just pushed much, much further. Chris always believed the fake girlfriends were real. When they died or were removed from the equation by whatever bizarre means Chris would nearly always accept the terms. He destroyed his PS3, He drove to Ohio. He inserted Billy Mays into his fantasy world (That's a big deal in retrospect). I could go on and on. Chris nearly always believed and altered the fantasy world accordingly. He doesn't even perceive his ownership of it yet when manipulated otherwise he will add whatever anyone wants into it.

This was always going to happen because the original trolls partially primed Chris for an intervention like idea guy. The structure was already there both inside Chris's mind and outside via documentation. Anyone can fuck Chris up now because the groundwork was laid. That's not to say the Trolls are wholly responsible for Chris having a fantasy world. Borb never did shit to address it. Yet anytime Clyde or anyone else dropped stuff into Chris's mindscape they pushed the outer boundaries further away. The size of the world, the interconnected plots and running sequels made it easier for Chris to fall into. Chris effectively learned a form of collaborative story telling that he cant control because he doesn't believe its a story. Its real for him.

Because of that Chris has been profoundly damaged with a high chance of permanence. All we're gonna get from here on out is Chris's delusions and eventual slide into a group home or worse. He'll still be a subject people want to talk about. Even though the content will effectively be the same going forward unless Chris is actively prodded. There's a meme myself and most Chris watchers indulged in: Let Chris be Chris or Chis does the most interesting/entertaining stuff when left alone. This can be true but most of the memorable content never would have been seen if Chris wasn't manipulated into getting on camera and recording it. I didn't know this until recently. If Trolls never discovered Chris he'd just be another shitty artist on the internet. Chris's fantasies would never have never been aggressively invaded so many times. Yes he would still be delusional but cwcville would be small and his alone. No sagas. No idea guy cancer. No fanbase. No disco. Just Chris. I don't know how he would have developed but I do know Josh Wise wouldn't be a part of it. That's a huge deal even if I needed to indulge in a 'what if' to get there.

I also know Chris needs money desperately and essentially requires and internet presence to prevent the sudden onset of homelessness. What The captain, Marvin and Null are doing for Chris is very important and in the short term absolutely the right thing to do morally and practically. What I think (emphasis on think since I'm not on the inside of this and could be wrong) is that Ebay efforts must continue to keep costa del chandler afloat but on anything else web related Chris needs to be told the truth: The internet is out to get him and only by going quiet will he be freed from it. If Chris does funny shit, he does it in the confines of himself and anyone around him. That means no more content. I'm sure some would detest it and that reaction is fine but really what is there left to know about Chris? Nothing. We've had 10 years of Chris. We know everything we need to know. There is no 'content' of worth left here. All that remains on Chris's current trajectory is repeats and watching him slide into homelessness or total delusion. Its just depressing and its cruel considering what it took to get here.

My Answer: I'll take a stab at it.

Chris will continue to deteriorate emotionally and physically. Occasionally he'll do something funny, go to a con and/or get arrested. Chris will go to court. The likelihood of which he leaves with another slap on the wrist (unless its serious). W e e n s will try to manipulate Chris and will fail or be successful depending on who's monitoring him. While current efforts will be effective in the short run they might be impractical in the long run. People change and so does their priorities. Its not a long term solution. I do think someone from the internet will be trying to keep an eye on him tho. If they fail then expect Joshua Wise 2.0 with even worse anime references. I'm sure the community wouldn't want to see Chris tortured again but the likelihood is high. Wise showed it was possible and /cow/ are a pack of greedy sociopaths who are smarter than 'Idea guy'. Its a low bar but they can unfortunately clear it.

Eventually Barb will die and the reverse mortgage will deprive Chris of his household. Whether Chris will be made aware of what a reverse mortgage means is unknown. After he shits himself and does nothing events will:

• Force Chris to live with distant family
• Force Chris onto the streets
• Force Chris into assisted living
• Force Chris to into prison for something serious he did

Those are the high probability outcomes. Yes, Chris could get therapy that works, win the lottery or become a mainstream trans activist (Another low bar). Keep in mind these are low probability outcomes. He's on a downward trajectory now. Users do like a car crash and some events might occur in a different order. Chris could generate all sorts of content but its going to be predictable content. They'll be some fantasy world bullshit then Chris will make a video talking about X then that's it. Just like 2011-2018. The details may vary but increasingly not by much up to and even when he loses the house.

Afterwards updates might be sketchy and infrequent unless Chris is living with family. He'll live out his days in whatever setting he can afford or the state will assign him. Chris will sometimes shit out another sonichu comic but it'll probably be tainted by idea guy 6.0.

Then everyone will forget about him and move on... or not. Whatever descendant of disco emerges will probably share the same quirks its progenitor did. Old man Marvin will sometimes drop in. _Blank_ will have finished his excellent comic series. The forum could be in a low content state where users pick at the bones of old content like when Chris retreated. Or we'll have new content that's same as the old content except more depressing. Chris will once again shit himself and do nothing in whatever setting he ends up in. We'll have watched the same shit over and over again and come to the same conclusions we did before.

Its not worth it. At least to me.

(Tbf I could be wrong. It wouldn't be the first time something I deemed a low-probability outcome is more probable then I thought. What makes me think otherwise is how Chris cannot change on his own. His learning disability prevents him from growing up as it always has. His family either uses him as a piggy bank or shuns him. I don't see where the spark for positive change comes from)

This is the truest part of the whole post. Chris will eventually need to be in a group home because he will always shit himself and do nothing.

Seems Barb has been ruining Chris' life since day 1.

Drinking in the early years, bribing him with toys to get him to talk, insisting on "mainstreaming," blowing inheritance on a lawyer for a case they couldn't win, the "reverse mortgage" because of her hoarding addiction, etc.

 

Did they even intend to have Chris to begin with? He is the result of bad parenting and aside from Bob trying to make something out of him, Chris was nothing but a failure his family from what I see since the borb left him with a babysitter while they went out drinking and they insisted on mainstreaming him out of misguided concerns at best and selfishness at worst.

Whether or not they intended to have him might explain why he is the way he is to an extent

 

I'm sure that's one good reason right off the bat.

 

The entire CWC Saga began when a drunken Barb chased Bob down a hall.

 

That it did, although was the pregnancy intended or were they just stuck with him?

 

Knowing what we know of Borb, I think CWC likely would've turned out the same either way.

 

How much of Chirs becoming Chris was his doing? Maybe Borb gave him the environment and tools to become Chris and it was Chris' own obsessions and ego that tipped him over the edge.

 

They both thought Borb was past childbearing. Birth control 0, alcohol and poor judgement 1.

 

The story of Chris is one of the reasons I support abortion to be honest. People make mistakes and humans are sexual creatures by nature. I feel if someone wants to raise a child, they better know what you are doing and have the necessary resources to ensure they become a functional member of society. It would be better to not be born than to be born unwanted. Anyways that's enough of my soapbox stuff

@Hurtful Truth Level if you don't mind me asking, are you pledging $10 or $20 to Chirs' pertreon, it looks like he's just going to ship the books without uploading the pages.

 

Late as fuck but yeah, Chris isn't worth following anymore as a lol-cow. That old striped shirt autistic virgin we knew and love from ten years ago is dead. All we can see from following Chris now is the inevitable wherein Chris will lose the home and at best might end up with family but that's as likely as the gal-pals from Chris' past being legit girlfriends. Only thing one could get from following Chris at the moment are seeing unfunny weens and A-Logs thinking Chris is still a lol-cow that could make them be the next Clyde Cash.

It's just a random guess on my part but most of it may as well be Chris' doing. Borb no doubt acted as part of a foundation for Chris but everything else? Chris' ego and obsessions would pretty much play into Chris's doing. I guess one (crappy) example would be Chris trying to know of say black people. Instead of trying to hold a normal convo or interaction with one, he just bases black people off in the Sonichu comics as something you'd see the Boondocks.

 

Chris is so gullible that he's been convinced to give away or destroy his precious medallions or "Christine" dolls on at least 3 separate occasions.
