You didn't miss anything. it was just 30 seconds of chris plugging a game and gawking at the camera with a wide-eyed facsimile of a smile.

 

If anyone's curious, I have a copy. I like how Chris started the video normally, put on his sad face to beg, then went to cheerful for the Shin Megami plug.

 

That just looks so awkward the way his eyes move around. It's like being half worried and half optimistic the way he plays it off.

So he either sold a Wii without remotes, or bought more wiimotes, poorly customized them, and sold them for more for "authentic"

Im pretty sure one big rule to electronics like this is do NOT just put paint over them because it messes up stuff and can ruin the device. Im not sure if putting a sealant over it before painting helps- but just general rule- dont paint eletronics

 

I wasn't that surprised when chris sold those shitty PS2 games, but this does surprise me. He's always been very protective of his vidya games and the idea of him selling a console is very, very atypical behavior. I'd say 'chris is getting better' but he'll blow this income on games for the console he's fixated on now.

 

Well the Wii is now obsolete in some eyes- the Switch is the way to go now. He may be selling the Wii to play the Switch (though can original Wii games be on the Switch? Or Gamecube games??)

 

Right, but chris is a pretty possessive guy when it comes to his toys. He used to say he'd never part with any of his games because they 'meant too much to him.'

 

Backwards compatibility isn't something that modern day consoles are known for. I don't own a Switch, so I don't know if older games are compatible, but what Nintendo usually does is make their consoles able to play games from the previous console and nothing else. So, the Wii U could play Wii games but not Gamecube. I'd guess that the Switch could play Wii U games, but not be able to play Wii games.

Of course, since the Switch is getting so many retro releases and ports, it doesn't matter too much to some people whether it has backwards compatibility or not. It was actually kind of clever of Nintendo to make the Switch a portable console that people could use to play Skyrim and BOTW on the bus or in the car. There are plenty of Skyrim ports at this point, but none for handheld consoles that you could play the game properly on, and that fact alone is enough to entice people.

Still, it does seem very out of character for Chris to sell his stuff like this, and to seemingly dig pretty deep for stuff to sell judging by the Cole stuff. I'd say it's because he's having severe financial trouble, but he's always had financial problems and he's never went on a selling spree quite like this, usually he'd just beg for more money and we'd see a lot more posts mentioning his hardships. His Patreon is doing pretty well, and he's making quite a bit selling this stuff.

My thoughts? Well, I'd say that perhaps his new sweetheart(s) made him realize that it's a very real possibility that Barb might die soon, and that they would like to live with him once Barb dies. So, now he's basically trying to clean up the house by selling as much old junk as possible while trying to get a decent amount of money to support his lifestyle and the lifestyle of his sweetheart(s). The possibility of getting to live in a decent sized house for free might be the reason why the girls are willing to put up with him.

 

RIght- I forgot that. He did sell the Totem and as willing to sell the Classic- albeit it was way over-priced

 

So chris is trying to become Charlie Sheen? That's it... time to start drinking heavily.
