Trump tweeted "Despite the negative press attention covfefe" a while back during his trip to the Middle East and all of the illumi-latte assumed it was a nonsensical typo and added it to their standard "ECKS DEE LE DRUMPH" rotations.

/r/the_donald or /pol/ or somewhere figured out that it was actually Arabic for something like "I stand up" (causing the tweet to make sense in context) within 24 hours and a later Trump tweet implied that this was the case (the tweet where he mused on how long it would be before someone actually figured out the meaning of "covfefe").

 

My professor friend speaks Arabic and confirmed this is true and he is far from a Trump fan. Illumi-latte is a great term, I will have to steal that. It just amazes me people are calling him racist WHILE he is using another language in a respectful way, knowing he used a term from a group he apparently hates, in correct context. I feel if he met with Merkel and said "Das treffen vas gut" (the meeting was good) he'd be called a Nazi lol. I don't need to expand how incredibly offensive that would be. Stopping rant now.

Also fig newtons are still around, but the breading sucks now and there are a lot of other versions now. I never was a sweets guy and loved them as a kid, got some a few years ago not so hot.

Semi related to food stores as Chris mentioned, is there a reason brands change name in the US? I'm decently well versed in corp law etc but we have much larger national changes why is it Acme in the North East and some south, and Albertsons on the West coast? Same damn company. I can only guess absorption and branding, but dunno. Hardees, Carls Jr too.

 

Also, Chris tweets a close-up photo of his grimy MLP shirt to a voice actress on the show. It's the same one he sent the "A little Fluttershy singing" video to a few months ago, and he also included her in one of his drawings and tweeted that to her a couple weeks ago.

Mondelez International has pretty much ruined the Nabisco brands we grew up on. I'm surprise they still put out Lorna Doones.

As well as Checkers/Rally's (who does like to celebrate that fact right on their packaging).

Some companies like to have a sort of roster of subsidiary labels/brands/namesakes to use wherever. I suppose something about being known as the same name all over has it's drawbacks. A&P used to do it too once they fell from grace in the 80's.
