I have a theory that she's just reading some papers Chris is showing her, and he is showing her them very slow.

 

He'd probably still get online. Public libraries and community centers exist. Plus, most places have wi-fi.

In all seriousness, Chris really shot himself in the foot by buying that necklace so quickly after he sold the totem.

 

Even so, I bet she can still put the fear of God in Chris.

 

Not so much feisty as "......meh, just Old Yeller me and get it over with...." in that ol' dog....

 

I was wondering that too, she seems to be exhibiting behavior that suggests she could have had a stroke in the last few months.

 

She seemed very strange in the last begging video she was in too, I wonder if she has Parkinsons? I know a couple of older people who have it and they have the same kind of physical signs that Barb is showing.

 

Let's also not forget, as I'm sure it's been said ad nauseum on KF: Barb could just be playing the part of "Feeble old woman", able to turn it on and off in such a way that she could win a damn Oscar.

 

To be fair, chris bought the necklace, he would be the one to have to return it.

 

Aw for fucks sake, he disabled comments - the best part of these videos. He used to forget to do it, and this one he remembered to. I wonder why...

 

Barb is sounding like she's reading off a script but she's only half-literate. Or is that a terrible attempt at dramatic pauses?

Also utility companies legally (I dunno if this is all states) can't turn off power/gas if it would make the house be in the "uninhabitable" range, which would mean AC during the summer and heat during the winter. This is only for seniors' homes, which I'm assuming this would count as with Barb's name probably on all the utilities.

Honestly they should both have an Adult Protective Services case worker, who would be able to point them in this direction and get them help for various things. I'm sure some weens have already reported them at some point in the past so I'm guessing that didn't go anywhere.

 

There is that or the state will heavily subsidize the bill, but you have to APPLY for the assistance and be found in need.

If you do not fill out the paperwork, nobody notices, no matter how many plea videos are put on youtube.

Wonder if Barb is still proud of Chris for buying that necklace in these dire circumstances?

Hell, who am I kidding, they don't need any money. This is just a play for pity so they can acquire more toys/hoarde. They lie about this stuff all the time.

ETA: if this isn't an act and they do lose power, it will be a great lesson to both of them.

 

He wouldn't do anything with her body. She'd just rot in 14BLC, but that might be exactly what she wants. Barb will become one with the Hoard.
