Puppets on a kids show is serious business.

 

To be fair, chris is on the level of the kids who watch sesame street. It makes sense he'd be upset.

How Pmurt factors into all of this is anybody's guess.

Big Bird was spared because he's yellow and poofy, like Trump's hair.

The weirdest thing is that the response of someone who fell for the parody (i.e. Chris) is very similar to the response of someone who recognized it, but played along for fun.

 

Man, half of my Facebook friends are now posting updates that are nearly indistinguishable from these missives shot out by Chris. That is a twist I did not see coming.

I will say this, whoever did the voice of Elmo in that video had it down pretty good.

 

Trump released a budget proposal to eliminate funds for many agencies, including Corporation for Public Broadcasting. CPB helps fund public TV/radio programs and stations. PBS is funded by CPB and the stations.

Sesame Street is funded by HBO now, so Elmo and friends aren't getting fired. However, if CPB's funding is cut, many rural stations would no longer afford to operate, so shows like Sesame Street won't reach viewers there.

 

IIRC, HBO airs new episodes, and the replays of said episodes then later air on PBS. I honestly thought that HBO footed the bill for the whole thing, that they paid PBS for the reruns and such.

 

Ah. I'm a britbong so I had no idea this happened. Part of Pmurt's attacks on the media I guess.

 

Actually its nothing new. Back in 2012 Rick Perry proposed the same thing as part of his presidential bid and got nearly identical parodies about him wanting to shut down sesame street.

 

Help, is that satire?

 

Well the media that criticizes trump is similar to trolls who criticize and used to try and help chris. Both of them waged war on their critics

 

With all that is going on with budget cuts, I wonder when chris will notice that his health care benifits are in jeopardy?

Oh wait... he doesn't care about his health.
