FB 2/14 - Chris lectures on empathy

This, very much this.
To be fair to chris (which takes some fucking doing, lol) at least he's trying to understand the whys of it, puts him slightly above the loveshy types who just cry and want reality changed to suit them.
Not that it'll do him any good because ... well.... he's chris.

 

I'm a woman and I've even HAD cancer (so I'm down with that) and even I don't know what the hell he's talking about.

 

This all started happening on the 8th when Chris started signaling for his gal-pals plus one, which is the exact same day Chris probably embarrassed himself by serenading young lesbian college students at the "Love is Love" event.
I still can't believe Chris' sheer lunacy of trying to contact Megan after everything he put her through on multiple occasions. If Chris truly had empathy and understood that Megan would never date someone like him, he would not be trying to contact that poor moron looking girl.

The idea that women have more empathy than men is sexist BS. Chris riding full tilt on the hypergamy train again.

 

I'd need to know their parameters for defining what empathy is and how to measure it, because I find that very hard to believe.

 

Yeah I agree, and especially for someone like Chris who can't understand emotions as it is without adding quantities to them. Perhaps women feel empathetic in more situations that warrant it than men, but I don't think you can say someone feels more empathy without adding quantities to it, which I think is just autistic.

 

I feel obligated to scoff even at the notion of women feeling empathy more often than men do, on the whole.

Now with physically measurable abilities I totally buy women generally having better night vision, sense of smell, and manual dexterity while men have better arm and core strength, strength to weight ratio, and pain tolerance. I also wouldn't be surprised by one or two of those trends being the other way instead.

 

I think the point is that Chris is wrong because he's Chris. Not because science can prove or disprove it.

 

My bet is that Chris finally looked up the definition of 'Empathy' and like all hypochondriacs thought he had it. And like 99% of all those delusional people, Chris doesn't have it.
