Yandere Simulator (EvaXephon developer of a Unity Game)

So, for the misinformed. This is about a game developed by a guy that was discussed on Kiwi. I don't think my memory as bad as [insert some type of simile].

The game is about a girl who is a, "Yandere" (ヤンデレ) is a portmanteau of two Japanese words yanderu (病んでる),meaning to be sick, and deredere (デレデレ), which is defined as strongly and deeply exhausted, infatuated, moonstruck, head-over-heels, or lovestruck, but in this case used for "lovestruck." for a guy and will kill other evil girls that try to get with her man to purify him from them so she can have him for herself, and goes by the name "Ayano Aishi" IIRC.

If you didn't catch on yup this is an anime game. Yup it uses popular tropes such as this.

The developer is EvaXephon an amateur developer who has just started making games and this is his 2nd official project that he is creating outside of... Lunar Scythe. A game that was about another teenage girl by the name of "Luna" who kills the evil people for the sake of purifying the world.

That game was scrapped and is unknown if it's still in the works or dropped altogether. The creator EvaXephon did not specify the status of the game and is now working on Yandere Simulator the current game now. The persona he uses to make this game is a new approach of "Yandere Dev."

As you can see EvaXephon is using the design of Ayano Aishi with the same font as Yandere Simulator and streamed development stages of the game.

It is unknown the work schedule of Yandere Simulator of the creator claims to be "12 hours a day."

All hard work and backbreaking is put into this game and 100% of his full attention and time. Though there is an error as to how it works as sometimes it's cut to 8 hours, and he regularly goes on vacations so the game time is unknown.

Oh... and he's streaming right now as of 2/8/2017, haha. Yeah don't worry he only does this 5-6 times a week and sometimes a full week but making progress on the game.

Twitch banned the game F.Y.I. I don't exactly know why...
The game at this point is about well,

1) Killing underage girls in brutal ways such as stabbing, torture, electrocution, drowning, mind slaving, and a looping death where they don't stop screaming until the player wants to stop, and implied being able to rape them while mindslaving, and also throwing them off of high places.

2) Taking panty shots of them and selling them to an unknown friend by the name of Info-Chan in order to unlock perks and items to kill the girls and frame them with...?


3) Being able to stalk Senpai as an antisocial girl takes the path of a serial killer and go to all extremes to keep him a open decision and changes her personality based on the players actions becoming more insane, and insane the more people she kills.

4) Slight Nudity.

So after 2-3 years of development, nearing 4 I believe correct me if I'm wrong. So far we have.

-Ways to kill girls.
-Ways to talk to girls.
-Easter Eggs.
-???

Uh...
Let's see... What we don't have.
-A final version of the GUI.
-An official inventory.
-A premise of the story (other than a 20 second intro that doesn't explain anything in detail).
-Official Team working on the game 24/7.
-Ways to interact with outside of school.
-Interacting with Senpai.
-An operational FPS.
-etc...

And at the pace we've been going we don't even have the core mechanics of murder. Such as students reacting to idle blood on the floor, or students reacted to dismembered body parts as the body on the floor needs to be full for them to suspect anything...

So far the game development is pretty good...?
Well during the stream he did give us some vital information on the game and what Twitch thinks of it.

I hope the game is still being worked on and can't wait for it's inital release date that is 2019.

I still find it strange that instead of actually refining the game as it is and actually make a goddamn consistant story IN THE GAME (No easter eggs or website bullshit) he thinks a rival system and actual fighting is a good idea. (it doesn't matter if he took MGS2 as an inspiration, it's been 2-3 years and the easter eggs outweigh the actual meat of the game)

 

I think he could make a win condition of killing the rival girl in under an hour. Why not just do that.

 

What the hell am I playing?! (a little known channel of a duo that plays odd or crappy games for laughs) does not one, not two, but three videos on that game.

 

Worse part is while that is a great idea he's going to add no more then around 15-16 rivals, from a Tsundere to a Teacher to even senpai's little sister.

 

Honestly the game's engine is too broken to really build a finished game on. Shame no one with solid coding skills was building that quasi-hitman concept with highschoolers, since you can make a solid base game from it.

Honestly, it's coming out when Valve works with Wu to release Revolution 180.

 

The problem with this game is that Yanderedev doesn't understand the concept of a Minimum viable product

That's the thing though. We have nothing but his ideas, and less work to suffice for the rest. It's good that he wants to add new ways to kill or murder your rival, but these things have been explained and demonstrated already and we know ways to kill them now can you move on to something else? As stated earlier the game would pay off well if it was actually just a simulator and less of a full on game he clearly hasn't had real experience with.

This game is based off real life right? It's hard to get away with murder. Students are suppose to have suspicious vibes from you. Senpai does not love you. Ayano can't even properly talk to him... Okay, but a 5'4, 95 weight highschool girl isn't gonna take on about 3-5 other girls in an action combat system and hop around like Final Fantasy and perform MKombat moves on eachother.

...2019, and if he adds anything else big to the game apparently that adds more years to it such as the town. I don't know what direction this game is going.

 

I could swear I remember seeing that Lunar Scythe girl outside of KF but I don't remember where.

I dislike it whenever someone tries to create drama just to get more attention to his shitty game.

All that drama over Hatred and for what? A mediocre game that later no one remembered after that.

And then EvaXephon is trying to bring up the Twitch drama to get more attention and the last time he did so was like a year ago. If he discusses it when the game is finished that will be fine but the game is still barebones, making it pointless and only reason is to get free attention and advertising.

I don't give a shit if your game gets a lot of drama from some screeching minorities which people shouldn't listen to in the first place. I don't really want to read your political opinions when you're supposed to be working.

Put out a game for us to enjoy, and shut the fuck up.

 

It's not like Twitch would even allow it, since it involves murdering minors and sexualizing them, both items violating their ToS last I checked. Either that or the game just makes their streaming software look bad due to how much it chugs, even with optimizing it.

It actually runs worse now since it's mostly spaghetti code done by a dude too lazy and arrogant to get an actual coder to build it from the ground-up.

 

Holy crap, his code got worse? It's always been spaghetti, but I can't even begin to imagine it getting any shittier.

He needs volunteers. The game only runs on base script people made for him. If he made the whole script the game wouldn't even function properly I'm assuming, He can't animate correctly or create models and Osana's animations (the first rival). He's focusing on making decals and new methods to kill basically.

Let's see...
In 2014-2015, I believe the game ran a solid 20~40 FPS if you had a semi-godly computer. Decent Comps ran barely 15~20.
In 2016-2017, Now it's 10~35FPS and you need a godly computer to run it like most youtubers they often have lag issues especially ones that stream on youtube have to restart the game from time to time and it often gets annoying.

I thought with all the drama and constantly pushing back the date, he lost people playing the game on YouTube.
