the story of almost every "core series" pocketmons game: Start in home town, meet a professor named after tree, get starter 'mon (almost always fire, grass, or water types), go out on an unsupervised adventure, get gym badges, thwart the local villain team and their boss, defeat the rival, take on the 四天王 and champion, become champion, then the possible postgame stuff?

At least there have been unique stories, like the plots of Colosseum and XD.

Yay! We got a Legends Kalos game! I really, really wanted one, but I was afraid we would have to do Unova first but I guess not! Kalos always needed more attention since they got screwed over from getting a third game due to Gamefreak at the time putting their resources to making non-Pokemon games to see if something stuck (nothing did).

A Legends Kalos game could have taken place at any time due to how rich the history of France was but it appears like it is taking place around the time of Legends: Arceus when France was being redeveloped (which was very controversial IRL due to them having to destroy a bunch of old buildings people were attached to). I hope we get to explore the catacombs like what real life Paris has. I bet you anything that there might be something significant to the plot down there if they include them.

 

There is a real life historical era of Paris where they did redevelop it so yes. Also, the buildings in that trailer if you look carefully looked oldish. We didn't actually see any gameplay of it.
